As a Senior Consultant in our Consulting team, you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations. You’ll:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS DevOps Engineer with 6-10 years of experience to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation processes. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end deployment process, ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of cloud systems, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of AWS infrastructure using Terraform, optimizing for security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Develop, manage, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, automating the entire build, test, and deployment lifecycle across cloud environments.
Manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate container clusters with Kubernetes to improve scalability, resilience, and deployment speed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy Big Data solutions, using Hadoop and Spark for data processing in cloud environments.
Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices with Terraform, ensuring infrastructure provisioning is repeatable, version-controlled, and automated.
Oversee the troubleshooting, optimization, and performance tuning of cloud-based applications, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
Implement best practices for cloud security, ensuring compliance with security policies, and protecting sensitive data in AWS environments.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing leadership in design, deployment, and automation strategies, while conducting code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
Stay current with emerging DevOps tools and cloud technologies, applying innovative solutions to continuously improve system performance, reliability, and deployment speed.
Manage disaster recovery planning, backups, and failover processes to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
Primary Skills:
Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.) and designing cloud-native solutions.
Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management, with strong IaC practices.
Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins and other DevOps tools for automating deployment processes.
Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for container orchestration and scaling applications.
Deep understanding of Big Data platforms, particularly Hadoop, Spark, and distributed data processing.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Shell for automation and system management.
Experience with monitoring, log aggregation, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
Secondary Skills:
In-depth knowledge of cloud security practices and AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management) for secure access control.
Familiarity with serverless architecture and AWS Lambda for event-driven computing.
Experience with version control systems like Git and branching strategies for collaborative development.
Strong background in Microservices architecture and deploying microservices in Kubernetes clusters.
Experience with automation frameworks, configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and CI/CD tools like GitLab CI or CircleCI.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
6-10 years of experience in DevOps roles with a strong focus on AWS cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management.
Proven experience leading CI/CD pipeline development, cloud infrastructure design, and automation initiatives using Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Expertise in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and cloud-based data processing solutions.
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and drive technical innovation.
Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally across teams.
