Your work profile

Deloitte is seeking an experienced GCP Data Engineering Manager to lead enterprise-scale cloud data transformation initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role involves architecting modern data platforms, managing delivery teams, engaging with clients, and driving end-to-end implementation of scalable analytics and data engineering solutions.The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in cloud data engineering, solution architecture, stakeholder management, and team leadership within consulting environments.

Key Skills & Competencies

• 9+ years of experience in architecting, building, and managing design and implement scalable cloud-native data platforms on GCP.
• Architect batch and real-time data processing frameworks using: BigQuery, Dataproc, Pub/, Composer (Airflow)Cloud Storage.
• Lead enterprise data migration and modernization initiatives from on premises to GCP.
• Define data models, governance standards, and best practices for large-scale analytics platforms.
• Drive optimization of data pipelines, query performance, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Ensure platform reliability, observability, scalability, and security compliance.

• Lead multiple data engineering workstreams and delivery teams.
• Manage project planning, estimations, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with client leadership teams, architects, analysts, and product owners.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and architecture governance sessions.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, consultants, and technical leads.
• Build capability within the GCP data engineering practice.
• Support hiring, training, and competency development initiatives.
• Foster innovation and adoption of modern engineering practices.

• Participate in pre-sales activities, solutioning, and proposal development.
• Present technical solutions and roadmaps to business and technology stakeholders.
• Drive client workshops, requirement gathering, and architecture discussions.
• Act as a trusted advisor for cloud data transformation programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education - B. tech / BE in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Success Metrics

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer / Airflow, Cloud Storage.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Experience with Spark and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of: Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT frameworks, Data Lake architecture, Real-time streaming solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

Location and way of working:

• Base location: Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai
• This profile involves travelling to client locations.
