Job Title:  T&T-EAD-Manager | Oracle DBA | Bengaluru | Engineering

Summary: Oracle Database SME | Manager | 10-15 years Experienced Oracle DBA (Level 2/L3) who specializes in performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and complex issue resolution. The ideal candidate will own the health, availability, and efficiency of Oracle database environments, work closely with development and infrastructure teams, and proactively drive improvements that support business-critical applications. The DBA will be working out of a customer location and would be closely interacting with the Client and Vendor partners. Key Responsibilities Database Operations & Maintenance • Perform daily monitoring, backup/recovery, patching, and operations support of Oracle databases. • Manage and maintain Data Guard, RAC, and ASM configurations. • Verify disaster-recovery procedures and conduct regular DR drills. Performance Tuning & Optimization • • Tune memory structures (SGA, PGA, In-Memory) and configure optimal initialization parameters. • Conduct capacity planning and performance forecasting for growth scenarios. Analyze SQL statements, execution plans, and wait events; apply indexing, partitioning, and statistics strategies. Troubleshooting & Incident Management • Lead root-cause investigations for database outages, slow-downs, and performance issues. • Work with existing monitoring tools to analyse and diagnose problem and issues. • Provide Level-2 support for application teams; create detailed incident reports and post-mortems. Automation & Scripting • • Good hands on working knowledge of Linux systems Develop PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripts for routine tasks (e.g., backup validation, health checks, patch rollout). Security & Compliance • Ensure databases meet internal policies and external regulatory standards • Provide reports requested by the regulators Collaboration & Documentation • Liaise with application developers, network engineers, and architects to design performant, scalable solutions. • Maintain up-to-date runbooks, design documents, and SOPs in the knowledge base.
