Your work profile

Deloitte is looking for an experienced GCP Data Engineer – Senior Consultant to design, develop, and optimize scalable cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to build modern data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics platforms supporting enterprise digital transformation initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services.
• Build and maintain cloud-native data architectures using: BigQuery, Dataproc, Pub/, Composer (Airflow), Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Dataflow
• Develop batch and real-time data processing solutions.
• Implement data models, data quality checks, and governance frameworks.
• Optimize SQL queries and pipeline performance for large-scale datasets.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and analytics teams.
• Migrate on-premises data platforms to GCP cloud environments.
• Ensure security, scalability, monitoring, and reliability of data platforms.
• Support CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices for data engineering.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to work in fast-paced consulting environments.
• Team collaboration and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education - B. tech / BE in Computer Science or Information Technology.

Success Metrics

• 5–8 years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 3+ years in GCP Data Engineering projects.

• Strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on expertise with: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer / Airflow.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, or distributed data processing frameworks.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices.

• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
• Exposure to Kubernetes/Docker.
• Knowledge of BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• GCP certifications preferred: Professional Data Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer.

Location and way of working:

• Base location: Bengaluru / Hyderabad / Pune / Gurgaon / Mumbai
• This profile involves travelling to client locations.
