Your work profile

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2,CICS and IMS
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, and production support for applications.
  • Work on batch and online processing systems
  • Utilize File-AID for data analysis, debugging, and file handling
  • Optimize existing programs for performance and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Business Analysts, and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT)

 

Key skills required: 

  • Strong experience in:
    • COBOL programming
    • JCL (Job Control Language)
    • DB2 (SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
    • CICS
    • IMS (DB/DC) / CICS
    • File-AID
  • Good understanding of:
    • Mainframe architecture and environments
    • Batch processing and scheduling tools
    • Data structures and file handling on mainframes
  • Experience in debugging and performance tuning
  • Experience with mainframe modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with version control and change management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Qualifications 

  • Education - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
