The Team
Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation practice can help you uncover and unlock the value buried deep inside vast amounts of data. Our global network provides strategic guidance and implementation services to help companies manage data from disparate sources and convert it into accurate, actionable information that can support fact-driven decision-making and generate an insight-driven advantage. Our practice addresses the continuum of opportunities in business intelligence & visualization, data management, performance management and next-generation analytics and technologies, including big data, cloud, cognitive and machine learning.
As a Analyst/Consultant/Senior Consultant in our T&T Team you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations: -
- ETL Testing: Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing on ETL processes to ensure data extraction, transformation, and loading operations are executed accurately.
- Test Case Design: Design, create, and execute test cases based on ETL requirements, data models, and business logic.
- Data Validation: Validate data integrity by comparing source data to target data, ensuring data is accurately transformed and loaded.
- Automation: Develop and maintain automated ETL test scripts using tools like Selenium, Python, or custom frameworks.
- Data Mapping: Review data mapping documents and ensure that all data transformations are properly implemented.
- Issue Reporting: Identify and report any data discrepancies, performance issues, or ETL process failures and collaborate with the development team to resolve them.
- Test Environment Setup: Set up test environments, ensuring that the correct data sets are available for testing ETL processes.
- Performance Testing: Perform performance testing of ETL processes to identify bottlenecks and optimize the efficiency of the data load and transformation processes.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, business rules, and ensure proper test coverage.
- Documentation: Document test results, defects, and provide feedback to the development team to ensure continuous improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure that all ETL testing is in compliance with data governance and security standards.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in ETL testing or data validation.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Hands-on experience with ETL testing tools like Apache Nifi, Talend, or Informatica is a plus.
- Proficient in writing SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts such as star/snowflake schemas, and data modeling.
- Ability to write and maintain test cases and test plans.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Quality Center.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
