Role Summary
The Director – Banking Enterprise Architecture is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping the technology and architecture vision for large banking clients. This position leads enterprise-wide architecture strategy, modernization roadmaps, and complex digital transformation engagements across core banking, payments, digital channels, data, and integration ecosystems.
The Director operates as a trusted advisor to senior client executives—helping them define strategic technology directions, navigate modernization challenges, and drive sustainable business transformation. Internally, the role contributes to practice growth by developing capabilities, mentoring high-performing teams, and leading differentiated solution offerings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Architecture Strategy & Vision
· Define and own enterprise architecture strategies across retail, corporate, and digital banking domains.
· Shape target-state architectures covering core modernization, cloud transformation, data strategy, integration modernization, and platform simplification.
· Lead architecture blueprinting, capability modeling, and roadmap creation for multi-year modernization initiatives.
2. Strategic Advisory for CXO Stakeholders
· Serve as a senior advisor to CXOs, Chief Architects, and transformation leaders on technology strategy, digital maturity, and modernization imperatives.
· Conduct architecture assessments, landscape evaluations, and strategic design reviews to guide executive decision-making.
· Translate business objectives into actionable architecture outcomes and transformation pathways.
3. Leadership of Complex Transformation Programs
· Lead large-scale, multi-vendor, multi-year transformation programs, ensuring architectural consistency, delivery quality, and risk mitigation.
· Oversee solution architecture decisions across domains—core banking, digital experiences, payments, data, middleware, and cloud.
· Establish strong governance mechanisms to ensure adherence to enterprise principles, performance benchmarks, and regulatory standards.
4. Practice Growth & Capability Development
· Contribute to thought leadership, solution frameworks, accelerators, and reusable architecture assets for the practice.
· Drive talent development, mentoring managers, architects, and high-potential consultants.
· Support business development through solutioning, proposal leadership, client presentations, and account growth initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience Requirements
· 12–15 years of leadership experience in banking technology, enterprise architecture, or digital transformation.
· Proven track record in leading core banking modernization, large-scale transformation programs, or enterprise technology refreshes.
Technical & Domain Expertise
· Deep knowledge of banking domains, including core banking, digital banking, payments, lending, and customer platforms.
· Strong understanding of modern architectural paradigms—API-led architectures, microservices, cloud-native platforms, data and integration architectures.
· Familiarity with enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF, BIAN, or equivalent.
Leadership & Executive Skills
· Strong executive presence with the ability to influence CXO-level stakeholders.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
· Strategic mindset with proven capability to shape technology direction at an enterprise scale.
