The Team

Deloitte’s Technology and Transformation team converts raw satellite imagery to a deliverable analytical product which includes writing processing code, designing the statistical approach, and communicating the results clearly. The practice can help you uncover and unlock the value buried deep inside vast amounts of data.

The team combines geospatial domain knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach to building things.Our team works across platforms and environments including Google Earth Engine, Python, QGIS, and cloud infrastructure, but is fundamentally focused on solving applied problems with spatial data rather than adhering to a fixed toolset.

Our global network provides strategic guidance and implementation services to help companies and Governments manage data from disparate sources and convert it into accurate, actionable information that can support fact-driven decision-making and generate an insight-driven advantage.

Our practice addresses the continuum of opportunities in business intelligence & visualization, data management, performance management and next-generation analytics and technologies, including big data, cloud, cognitive and machine learning all leveraging data from satellites, UAVs, IoT sensors etc. across environment and sustainability, infrastructure, and energy domains.

 

Your work profile

  • Process and analyze electro-optical and thermal satellite imagery to extract meaningful information.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for image classification, object detection, change detection, and other image analysis tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate satellite data analytics into applications and platforms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in satellite imagery analysis and incorporate new techniques into our workflows.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to clients and stakeholders on satellite data-related queries.

 

 

Key skills required: 

  • Experience working on electro-optical satellite data image pre-processing/processing and analytics, with a solid understanding of satellite-based electro-optical data first principles.
  • Familiarity with electro-optical system functionality, performance, and product data structures including MSI, SWIR, LWIR, MWIR, and Hyperspectral.
  • Experience with satellite image processing and the ability to handle large-scale geospatial datasets.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, C++, or other relevant languages, with a focus on image processing and computer vision.
  • Experience in applying Machine Learning models to extract features and make predictions based on orthographic images.
  • Proficiency in using databases like PostgreSQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer vision libraries and frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, specifically for geospatial and orthographic image analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Trimble, Google Earth Engine, ArcGIS, Hexagon geosystems, Leica

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Geospatial, Remote Sensing, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on satellite-based remote sensing data analysis.
  • 1-5 years of demonstrated experience in geospatial analysis, remote sensing, earth observation, or spatial science.
