Job Description: Quality Engineer (Banking & Financial Services)
Work Profile
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and functional accuracy of complex software systems within the Banking and Financial Services domain. This role involves designing and executing comprehensive test automation frameworks, performing deep data validation, and ensuring that financial applications—specifically those within Asset Management, Wealth Management, or Capital Markets—meet the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Domain Expertise: Strong experience in Banking and Financial Services, with specific knowledge of Asset Management / Wealth Management (experience in Capital Markets is highly preferred).
- Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of Financial instruments (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives) and the end-to-end Trade lifecycle and investment systems.
- Automation Frameworks: Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks.
- Programming Proficiency: Strong coding skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Web & API Testing: Proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, and API testing tools including RestAssured and Postman.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Experience working within automated pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Data Validation: Strong SQL skills and expertise in performing complex data validation to ensure data integrity.
- Testing Methodologies: Thorough understanding of Functional, Regression, and Integration testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Test Engineering & Quality Delivery
- Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test suites to ensure the stability of financial software products.
- Architect and implement scalable automation frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript and tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Perform rigorous API testing to validate service-layer functionality and data integrity using RestAssured or Postman.
- Execute complex SQL queries to perform backend data validation, ensuring accuracy across financial datasets and trade systems.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab) to support continuous integration and deployment.
- Validate the end-to-end Trade lifecycle and ensure financial instrument calculations align with business requirements.
Test Management & Collaboration
- Drive the full testing lifecycle, including Test Planning, execution, and Defect Management using tools such as JIRA or ALM.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand complex financial requirements and translate them into actionable test cases.
- Partner with DevOps teams to enhance testing maturity and automate quality gates within the delivery pipeline.
- Support defect triage and root cause analysis to ensure rapid resolution of issues in production-grade financial systems.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
