Purpose of the Role: 

The GBS Manager will play a critical role in overseeing program governance, design, and delivery for a large-scale ERP finance transformation (Oracle → SAP ECC migration, with future S/4HANA transition). 

Key Responsibilities: 

GBS Strategy & Operating Model Design 

  • Lead engagement models with clients, bringing thought leadership on GBS trends, benchmarks, and best practices 
  • Guide development of business cases, opportunity assessments, and value realization roadmaps 
  • Design and oversee future-state GBS operating models (processes, people, and technology) 
  • Develop technology blueprints and implementation roadmaps that integrate ERP migration with digital enablers 

Transformation & Transition Leadership 

  • Drive process standardization, automation, and digital adoption across Finance and other functional towers 
  • Champion deployment of digital solutions (RPA, Process Mining, AI/ML, workflow automation, analytics) 
  • Oversee transition of operations into GBS (Knowledge Transfer, Shadow, Reverse Shadow, Stabilization), ensuring business continuity 
  • Lead vendor strategy, outsourcing negotiations, and service provider governance 

GBS Maturity & Optimization 

  • Conduct GBS maturity assessments and define roadmaps for evolution of service delivery models 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and scaling of GBS responsibilities 
  • Ensure alignment of ERP transformation initiatives with long-term GBS strategy 

Program Governance & Oversight 

  • Define and enforce governance frameworks, standards, and reporting mechanisms for ERP transformation 
  • Own RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management and deliver executive dashboards 
  • Oversee program planning, resource tracking, and milestone adherence across O2C, P2P, R2R workstreams 
  • Support ERP migration governance from Oracle → SAP ECC and preparation for S/4HANA 
  • Ensure effective steering committee governance and decision support 

Stakeholder Management & Practice Development 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to global stakeholders across geographies, ensuring strong collaboration and alignment 
  • Manage high-level communication with senior executives, GPOs, and country leadership 
  • Mentor teams and contribute to Deloitte’s GBS Consulting assets, frameworks, and knowledge base 
  • Provide thought leadership in GBS, contributing to industry benchmarks and innovation 

Required Skills: 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field 
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred 
  • Project/Program management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) desirable 

Experience 

  • 8–14 years of experience in consulting or industry, with strong exposure to GBS, shared services, and enterprise transformation 
  • Proven track record of ERP migration/implementation programs (SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA preferred) 
  • Deep knowledge of finance processes: O2C, P2P, R2R 
  • Experience leading multi-country/global transformation programs and engaging international stakeholders 
  • Exposure to outsourcing models, service provider management, and global delivery models 

Skills 

Functional / Technical 

  • Expertise in ERP program structures, governance, and delivery lifecycle 
  • Strong knowledge of SAP (ECC, S/4HANA) preferred 
  • Familiarity with digital enablers (RPA, AI/ML, process mining, workflow automation, analytics) 
  • Strong financial acumen to assess business cases, budgets, and performance metrics
