Key Responsibilities:
An Email Security Professional role involves securing email infrastructure, managing threats like phishing/malware, configuring security platforms Proofpoint), implementing email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), analyzing incidents, creating documentation, and providing user training, requiring expertise in SMTP, DNS, and security protocols to protect against advanced email-based attacks.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot email security gateways, filters, and related systems (e.g., antivirus, anti-malware).
- Threat Prevention: Implement policies for spam, phishing, malware, and Business Email Compromise (BEC) prevention, including sandbox analysis.
- Incident Response: Analyze and respond to security alerts, manage quarantined emails, and lead incident resolution for email-related breaches.
- Policy & Documentation: Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and runbooks for email security operations.
- Authentication & Compliance: Configure and manage DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to validate email authenticity.
- User Training: Educate employees on email security best practices and phishing awareness.
- Reporting: Generate operational reports on security posture and incidents.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SMTP, TLS, DNS, email protocols, and cloud email security (O365, G-Suite).
- Platform Experience: Hands-on experience with leading email security platforms (Proofpoint).
- Threat Knowledge: Deep understanding of email threats like phishing, spoofing, malware, and BEC.
- Security Protocols: Expertise in SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and email forwarding.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze security events, investigate incidents, and troubleshoot complex issues.
- ITIL/Process Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL (Incident, Change, Problem Management) processes is often required.

- Education B. E / B.Tech (Tier 1/2) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields
