Deloitte’s Supply Chain & Network Operations (SCNO) practice focuses on delivering practical, strategy-driven value through advisory services that optimize, reinvent, and improve the supply chain from end to end — design, plan, source, make, and deliver. We tackle organizations’ most complex issues by drawing on global capabilities that span all areas of business strategy and operations and industries. The focus therefore is on providing holistic offerings to address client business issues and engaging with them in deploying high impact delivery models that support their overarching business strategy.

Role overview: Manager – Advisory consulting

As a manager, your primary responsibility will be to lead supply chain and operations advisory engagements, helping clients optimize their end-to-end supply chains and operational capabilities. In addition, you will provide strategic advisory on supply chain policy and investment to support clients’ long-term growth and resilience in dynamic market and regulatory contexts.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

·       Lead supply chain and operations consulting projects focused on supply chain operating model, supply chain planning, network design, inventory optimization, demand planning, logistics, and manufacturing operations to drive performance improvements

·       Develop and implement strategies that enhance supply chain agility, cost efficiency, and operational excellence for Chemical, Pharma and Industrial Goods sector clients

·       Provide advisory support on supply chain policy analysis, helping clients understand regulatory impacts and opportunities

·       Guide clients on investment decisions related to supply chain infrastructure, technology adoption, and capacity expansion to future-proof operations

·       Conduct quantitative analysis using advanced supply chain modeling and scenario planning to evaluate operational and investment trade-offs

·       Collaborate closely with client leadership to align supply chain strategy with broader business goals and sustainability initiatives

·       Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture

·       Contribute to knowledge development and thought leadership on supply chain operations, policy, and investment trends

·       Support business development activities by engaging with prospective clients, preparing proposals, and presenting insights at industry events

·       Manage multiple projects with various team members that could be running in parallel

·       As project leads ensuring project economics are well maintained (eg: revenue, project profitability, investments weeks, utilization etc.) and deliver projects profitably for the service line

 

 

 Skills Required

 

Mandatory

·       10+ years of relevant experience across consulting and/or industry roles

·       A strong and demonstrated interest in consulting and/or advisory client service

·       Strong understanding of supply chain management principles, operational processes, and network optimization.

·       Experience in Business Process Re-engineering activities such as Source to Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Plan to Produce, and Design to Develop

·       Experience in supply chain policy analysis and investment advisory is a plus.

·       Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with experience working with senior client stakeholders.

·       Proven project leadership and team management capabilities.

·       Prior experience managing end to end client engagements and programs

·       Prior experience in managing teams

·       Engineering from a Tier 1 college

·       MBA from Tier 1 B-School

 

Preferred

·       Exposure to Chemicals, Pharma and Industrial Goods sectors.

·       Familiarity with digital supply chain technologies and sustainability frameworks.

·       Experience with regulatory environments affecting supply chain operations and investments.

 

Location and travel requirements

·       Mumbai, Chennai or Bengaluru

·       This role involves extensive travel from base location as per client requirements (75% of the month)
