Your work profile

We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 15+ years of IT experience and proven expertise in cloud operations to lead and support mission-critical operations projects. The SME will provide deep technical guidance, drive operational excellence, optimize cloud infrastructure, and act as a trusted advisor across infrastructure, application, and security domains.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary GCP SME for operations and managed services engagements.
• Provide technical leadership in designing, implementing, and optimizing GCP infrastructure for scalability, performance, and security.
• Lead incident, problem, and change management for GCP environments, ensuring compliance with ITIL standards.
• Perform root cause analysis of critical incidents and define preventive measures.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), monitoring, and remediation tools.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams for seamless service delivery.
• Ensure cost optimization and governance of GCP resources aligned with business objectives.
• Develop operational documentation, runbooks, and best practices for cloud support teams.
• Mentor, train, and provide knowledge transfer to operations engineers.
• Stay updated with evolving GCP services and recommend adoption strategies.

 
Requirements:

• 15+ years of IT experience with 7+ years in GCP cloud operations & architecture.
• Expertise in core GCP services – Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, IAM, Stackdriver (Operations Suite), Cloud Functions, GKE.
• Proven background in operations management, monitoring, performance tuning, and incident response.
• Proficiency in automation frameworks – Terraform, Deployment Manager, Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Understanding of GCP security best practices and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Experience in cost governance and optimization of GCP workloads.
• Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Preferred certifications – Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.

Location and way of working

• Base location: Bangalore
• This profile involves occasional travelling to client locations OR this profile does not involve extensive travel for work.
