Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation practice can help you uncover and unlock the value buried deep inside vast amounts of data. Our global network provides strategic guidance and implementation services to help companies manage data from disparate sources and convert it into accurate, actionable information that can support fact-driven decision-making and generate an insight-driven advantage. Our practice addresses the continuum of opportunities in business intelligence & visualization, data management, performance management and next-generation analytics and technologies, including big data, cloud, cognitive and machine learning.
Job Title: Azure SME (Consultant Level)
Experience Required: 8+ years (with strong expertise as Azure Cloud Subject Matter Expert – L3 Operations & Architecture)
Desired Qualifications
Act as the primary Azure SME for consulting, operations, and managed services engagements.
Provide technical leadership in designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure environments for scalability, performance, and security.
Lead incident, problem, and change management for Azure platforms, ensuring compliance with ITIL standards.
Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis of critical incidents, defining preventive measures.
Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for efficient deployments and operations.
Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Ensure cost optimization, governance, and compliance of Azure resources aligned with business objectives.
Develop operational documentation, runbooks, and best practices for cloud operations teams.
Mentor and support junior engineers (L1/L2) with training and technical guidance.
Stay updated with evolving Azure services and provide recommendations for enterprise adoption.
- Base location: Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad,Coimbatore & Chennai
- This profile involves occasional travelling to client locations.

- 8+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Azure cloud operations, consulting, and architecture (L3 level).
- Strong expertise in core Azure services – Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Virtual Network, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, Monitor/Log Analytics, Key Vault.
- Proven background in advanced operations, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident response.
- Hands-on proficiency in automation frameworks – Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, Ansible.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
- Deep understanding of Azure security best practices, RBAC, conditional access, and compliance frameworks (CIS, ISO, PCI, HIPAA).
- Experience in Azure cost management, FinOps practices, and governance using Azure Policy, Blueprints, and Cost Management tools.
- Excellent consulting, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
