Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA Consultant with 8+ years of expertise in managing, administering, and optimizing Oracle Database environments. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle databases in enterprise environments. The role requires hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, backup & recovery, and database migration/upgrade activities, along with the ability to provide strategic consulting for database architecture and optimization.

 

Responsibilities:

Act as the SME for Oracle Database Administration in consulting and managed services engagements. Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c) environments. Administer and maintain Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery. Perform proactive database monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization. Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Manage user accounts, roles, and security controls in compliance with enterprise standards. Support database migrations (on-premise to cloud, cross-version, and platform migrations). Collaborate with developers, system admins, and application teams to optimize database performance. Provide operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer to support teams. Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance for complex issues. Stay updated on Oracle database technologies, features, and cloud database trends.

 
Requirements:

 

8+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in large enterprise environments.

Strong expertise in Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c administration and troubleshooting.

Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate.

Proficiency in RMAN backup/recovery and disaster recovery planning.

Solid experience in performance tuning (SQL, instance tuning, AWR/ASH reports).

Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring and management.

 

Familiarity with cloud database platforms (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure Database for Oracle).

Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting (Shell, Python, or Perl).

Knowledge of database security, auditing, and compliance standards.

Experience in database migration, consolidation, and upgrade projects

 

 

Preferred:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) DBA, Oracle RAC/GoldenGate certifications.
