Role Overview

Oracle WebLogic Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize Oracle WebLogic Server environments for mission-critical enterprise applications. The role involves installation, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and support of WebLogic clusters and middleware components, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server (10g/11g/12c) environments.
  • Manage domain creation, clustering, JDBC/JMS configurations, and deployments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application server performance, JVM tuning, and resource utilization.
  • Provide L2/L3 support and resolve issues related to deployments, server downtime, or performance.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and security fixes for WebLogic servers.
  • Performance & Reliability
  • Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and load balancing strategies.
  • Proactively monitor server health using tools (Enterprise Manager, WLST, OEM Cloud Control).
  • Perform log analysis, root cause investigation, and implement permanent fixes.
  • Security & Compliance
  • Configure SSL, certificates, and secure communication channels.
  • Manage user roles, authentication, authorization, and integration with LDAP/Active Directory.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, audits, and vulnerability management.
  • Automation & Optimization
  • Develop and maintain scripts (WLST, Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation of deployments, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline integration with WebLogic environments.
  • Optimize infrastructure utilization and reduce manual tasks.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with development, QA, DBA, and infrastructure teams to support application deployments.
  • Collaborate with Oracle support and vendors for troubleshooting and roadmap alignment.
  • Document configurations, processes, and knowledge base articles.

 
Requirements:

 

  •  Technical Expertise
  • 5–10+ years of hands-on experience in WebLogic Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of WebLogic clustering, JDBC, JMS, JTA, Work Managers, and Node Manager.
  • Expertise in deployment automation and WLST scripting.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Middleware (SOA Suite, OSB, OHS, Oracle HTTP Server).
  • Understanding of JVM tuning, garbage collection, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Preferred
  • Exposure to Oracle Cloud, OCI, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for WebLogic.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Oracle WebLogic certifications.
