Your work profile

The Analyst – ESG Advisory will support Deloitte’s SRT Sustainability team in delivering high‑quality, client‑facing ESG and sustainability advisory As an Analyst - Biodiversity in our Sustainability - Advisory Team you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with teams and clients with the intention to exceed client expectations. WIth 0–2 years of experience you will be supporting environmental and social projects with a focus on biodiversity assessments, ecological studies, and nature-related risks. The role will contribute to ESIA/ESDD assignments, lender advisory work, and compliance with international standards.

 

You will be working on solving full spectrum of sustainability and climate change challenges across a wide range of clients across industry sectors. You will not just be working on ideas and recommendations to solve the client’s challenges, in most cases you would also be walking with the client in implementing those recommendations and in advising clients as they establish and improve internal processes for collecting, analyzing, measuring, and reporting information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support biodiversity baseline studies, ecological surveys, and impact assessments as part of ESIA assignments.
  • Assist in Environmental & Social Due Diligence (ESDD) with focus on biodiversity risks and sensitivities.
  • Conduct screening of projects for critical habitats, protected areas, and ecosystem services impacts.
  • Support gap analysis against IFC Performance Standard 6, ADB Safeguards, and EHS Guidelines.
  • Compile and analyze biodiversity data, including flora/fauna, habitats, and ecosystem services.
  • Assist in development of Biodiversity Management Plans (BMPs) and mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to lender advisory, monitoring, and compliance review assignments.
  • Support preparation of technical reports, maps, and client deliverables.
  • Track and interpret E&S regulatory requirements related to biodiversity and conservation

Key skills required: 

In order to be considered for the role, your competencies will cover the broad scope of business modelling services, leveraging your professional background and skills such as:

  • PhD/Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biodiversity, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in biodiversity/ecological consulting or related fieldwork.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Biodiversity assessment methods and ecological surveys
  • IFC Performance Standard 6 (Biodiversity Conservation)
  • ADB Safeguards and World Bank EHS Guidelines
  • Familiarity with GIS tools, biodiversity databases, and mapping is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and across projects.
