The Corporate Intelligence vertical is an integral part of Strategy Risk & Transactions (“SRT”) Services. The Corporate Intelligence vertical supports clients across sectors with qualitative inputs through public record research and market enquiries based due diligence to assess the integrity, background and reputation of entities and/ or individuals that the client may wish to transact with or enter into a business relationship with.   Learn more about our Risk Regulatory & Forensic Practice.

 

Your work profile

As an Assistant Manager you will be expected to manage and deliver enhanced due diligence reports based on a thorough understanding of due diligence / market or industry - research methodology and demonstrated project management capabilities. Client interfacing experience such as presenting research findings is a plus.

The applicant should have between 3-4 years of experience. The responsibilities are delineated below:

  • Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with researching and/or extracting information from databases such as Factiva, relevant country Corporate Registries, offshore leaks databases, credit history databases, litigation records, regulatory checks such as OFAC as well as the media at large towards understanding the track record of the company and identify adverse or negative issues. Fluency in additional languages – Indian or foreign is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L statements, trial balance, etc.), including identifying irregular trends and patterns. Understanding of company MIS including details maintained for vendors, customers, employees, etc.
  • Understanding of enhanced due diligence procedures, including tasking market enquiries, and critically analyzing the information gathered through enquiries including identifying credible sources; experience dealing with external network of subcontractors is a plus.
  • Experience in reporting drafting and presentation, include analyzing, corroborating and removing inconsistencies on information gathered across varied sources to create a cohesive due diligence report based on a narrative format and PPT. Experience using visual data presentation software like Tableau is a plus. Give verbal or written updates to clients.
  • Excel in a collaborative environment, where the ability to multitask across multiple projects will be expected including in addition answering project-based queries, assisting with risk and engagement on boarding procedures, as well as internal trainings. Previous project and team management experience is a plus.
  • Trainings and Operational Efficiency: Bring in efficiency in Turn-Around-Time and quality of deliverables through innovative research procedures of databases and sources of information. Undertake various training programs relevant to the role to improve work style and team requirements.
  • Other Initiatives: Help Manager / Senior Manager/ Director/ Partner in strategizing proposals, Engagement Letters, internal administrative procedures on engagements, etc.

 

Key skills required: 

  • Should have strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written English) skills.
  • Strong report writing and reviewing skills, with an appropriate focus on attention to detail, conciseness and risk management. Ability to analyze and summarize complex information in a unique way or in own words is a mandatory skill set.    
  • Fluency in additional languages – Indian or foreign is a plus.
  • Ideal candidates should possess a Graduate / Post Graduate / Management degree with a specialization in Finance / Commerce / Economics. Candidates with post graduate degrees in other disciplines including liberal arts can also apply provided they are found suitable to the role during the interview process.
  • Familiarity with databases such as Factiva, Lexis, Nexis, RoC and 4-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge / skills (above average) in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic environment often accompanied by shifting priorities and stringent deadlines.
