Your work profile

As an Assistant Manager in Deloitte’s SRT Sustainability team, you will play a key role in delivering client‑facing ESG and sustainability advisory engagements across industries. The role involves supporting clients in navigating ESG regulations, managing sustainability risks and opportunities, enhancing disclosures, and driving measurable impact. You will work closely with client stakeholders to deliver high‑quality advisory solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Engagement Delivery

• Support delivery of ESG and sustainability advisory engagements including ESG diagnostics, strategy development, operating model design, and implementation support.
• Serve as a key team member on complex, multi‑stakeholder consulting engagements with domestic and global clients.
• Manage defined workstreams, ensuring project milestones, timelines, and quality standards are met.
• Prepare structured, insight‑driven client deliverables (presentations, reports, dashboards, and executive summaries).

ESG Reporting, Disclosure & Regulatory Advisory

• Advise clients on ESG reporting and disclosures aligned with BRSR, GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB, CDP, and other relevant frameworks.
• Support clients in ESG maturity assessments, gap analysis, and roadmap development.
• Assist clients in responding to investor ESG queries, ratings, and benchmarking exercises.
• Monitor evolving ESG regulations and market practices and assess implications for clients.

Climate & Sustainability Advisory

• Support sustainability and climate‑related engagements including climate risk assessments, GHG accounting (Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3), net‑zero roadmaps, and transition planning.
• Assist with advisory projects on energy transition, resource efficiency, circular economy, supply‑chain ESG, and responsible sourcing.
• Contribute to social and governance advisory areas such as DEI, human rights, health & safety, and governance frameworks.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

• Interact directly with client stakeholders across sustainability, finance, risk, legal, operations, and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Deloitte’s global SRT and sustainability teams to leverage best practices, tools, and accelerators.
• Support proposal development, RFP responses, and pitch presentations.

Team Leadership & Knowledge Development

• Guide and review work of analysts and consultants.
• Contribute to development of internal methodologies, templates, and sustainability tools.
• Support creation of thought leadership, market insights, and knowledge assets for the SRT Sustainability practice.

Key skills required: 

In order to be considered for the role, your competencies will cover the broad scope of business modelling services, leveraging your professional background and skills such as:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields
• Master’s degree (MBA / Sustainability / Climate / Public Policy) preferred
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in ESG advisory, sustainability consulting, risk advisory, or professional services
• Prior consulting experience preferred
• ESG related certifications (e.g., GRI, CFA ESG, Sustainability/Climate credentials) are an advantage
• Strong understanding of ESG concepts, sustainability strategy, and climate change issues
• Good working knowledge of Indian and global ESG regulations and disclosure standards
• Strong analytical, research, and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong client facing presence
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced consulting environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables
