Role Overview

We are seeking a Public Policy & Regulatory Specialist with strong experience in public policy, regulatory analysis, policy monitoring, research, drafting, and stakeholder engagement.

The role sits at the intersection of public policy, research, regulatory affairs, and consulting, requiring the ability to analyse complex policy and regulatory developments, anticipate their business implications, and formulate strategic recommendations for clients. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and capable of working on issues that shape markets, industries, and public institutions.

The position offers an opportunity to engage with a diverse range of policy challenges, support evidence-based advocacy, and contribute to meaningful policy discussions involving industry, government, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track, monitor, and analyze policy, legislative, and regulatory developments across key sectors and assess their potential impact on businesses and industry stakeholders.
  • Provide end-to-end public policy and regulatory support to client teams, including issue identification, policy assessment, risk analysis, and strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct policy research and develop well-reasoned analyses, briefing notes, policy memos, position papers, consultation responses, and advocacy material.
  • Monitor government announcements, legislative developments, regulatory consultations, and institutional changes relevant to client priorities and emerging policy issues.
  • Support the design and execution of stakeholder engagement strategies, including stakeholder mapping, identification of policy opportunities, and engagement planning.
  • Assist in developing industry representations and policy recommendations by synthesizing stakeholder inputs, regulatory developments, and market perspectives.
  • Engage with industry associations, think tanks, regulatory bodies, and government stakeholders to support policy discussions and advocacy initiatives.
  • Provide regular policy updates and advisory support to clients on evolving regulatory frameworks and emerging public policy issues.
  • Conduct benchmarking and comparative analysis of domestic and international policy developments to inform client strategies and recommendations.
  • Support consulting engagements through research, project management, issue tracking, and preparation of client-facing presentations and reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, government relations, policy consulting, legal and regulatory research, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of India's policymaking, legislative, and regulatory ecosystem, including government institutions and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy research, monitoring regulatory developments, and preparing analytical policy briefs, reports, and stakeholder communications.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex policy developments into clear business implications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, industry representatives, and public sector stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with a keen interest in public policy, governance, and regulatory developments.
  • Prior experience in consulting, industry associations, corporate public policy teams, think tanks, or regulatory advisory roles will be an advantage.
