Position: Junior Full Stack Developer
About the Programme:
The National Insight Center for Education (NICE), Ministry of Education initiative aims to build a centralized analytics and decision-support platform that consolidates data across national education programmes, giving senior government leadership real-time performance visibility and driving data-informed policy for 50L+ learners annually.
About the Role:
The role involves supporting full-stack development across frontend and backend systems, contributing to AI-powered features and integrations, and collaborating with senior engineers, design and product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable product features.
Key Roles and Responsibility:
1. Full-Stack Feature Development: Build and ship features end-to-end using React.js/Next.js on the frontend and Java Spring Boot or Python/FastAPI on the backend, under the guidance of senior engineers.
2. AI-Powered Feature Support: Assist in building and evolving AI-powered features, including RAG-based Q&A and agentic AI workflows, using tools such as Azure OpenAI and vector databases.
3. State Management and Architecture: Contribute to scalable frontend architecture, including state management (Zustand, Redux/Context API) and Micro Frontend patterns.
4. Quality and Testing: Write unit and integration tests (Vitest, JUnit), follow clean engineering practices and support accessibility (WCAG/ARIA) improvements.
5. Data and Infrastructure Support: Work with relational and NoSQL data stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), messaging systems (Kafka) and containerized deployments (Docker) as part of feature delivery.
6. Learning and Collaboration: Actively learn from code reviews and mentorship, collaborate across design, backend and product teams, and grow toward greater ownership of features over time.
Qualifications:
• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Preferred: Relevant experience building full-stack or AI-powered product features in an agile environment
Experience (Preferred):
1. 1-3 years of experience in full-stack or frontend-leaning software development
2. Working knowledge of React.js, Next.js and TypeScript/JavaScript, with backend exposure to Java Spring Boot and/or Python (FastAPI)
3. Exposure to AI/ML concepts such as RAG, vector databases and agentic AI workflows
4. Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka and Docker, and basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
5. Understanding of testing practices (Vitest, JUnit) and accessibility standards (WCAG/ARIA)
