Role Overview
We are seeking an SAP IBP Consultant to design, configure, and deliver planning solutions across Demand Planning, Supply & Response, Inventory Optimization, S&OP/IBP for Sales & Operations, and Control Tower. The ideal candidate has hands-on IBP experience, strong supply chain planning knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive measurable service, inventory, and cost improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1) Solution Design & Build
- Conduct requirements workshops, process discovery, and fit–gap analysis for Demand, Supply, Inventory, and S&OP cycles.
- Configure IBP core objects:
- Planning Areas, Key Figures, Attributes, Attribute Transformations, Time Profiles
- Master Data Types & Relationships, Planning Levels, Disaggregation rules
- Copy/Disaggregation Operators, Allocation, Aggregation, Planning Filters
- Set up process-specific capabilities:
- Demand Planning: Forecast models, best-fit, seasonality, outlier correction, causal factors, product lifecycle planning.
- Supply & Response: Heuristics, Optimizer, Order-Based Planning (OBP), supply assignment, pegging, constraints/penalties.
- Inventory Optimization: Service-level targets, variability inputs, multi-echelon safety stock.
- S&OP: Scenario planning, consensus demand, pre/post-S&OP reviews, executive KPI dashboards.
- Control Tower: Alerts, exception management, root-cause analysis, what-if simulations.
- Build Excel add-in templates, Fiori app tiles, analytics stories, and planning views.
- Prepare Functional Specifications for integrations, enhancements, and custom analytics.
2) Integration & Data
- Integrate IBP with S/4HANA/ECC and external systems via CPI-DS/CI-DS (SAP Integration Suite), OData, or flat-file interfaces.
- Orchestrate master data and transactional data loads (products, locations, BOMs/PPMs/PDS, historic sales, open orders, lead times, calendars).
- Validate data quality, reconcile aggregates vs. base level, and ensure performance of planning operators.
3) Testing, Cutover & Support
- Create test scripts and execute UT/SIT/UAT; manage defects and re-tests.
- Plan and execute cutover, baseline data loads, and go-live readiness.
- Provide hypercare/post-go-live support, monitor operators, tune forecasts/optimizers, and deliver incremental enhancements.
4) Governance, Change & Adoption
- Maintain documentation (BRDs, configuration workbooks, data mapping, SOPs, training decks).
- Enable user adoption through training, playbooks, and role-based planning views.
- Ensure alignment with planning governance, data privacy, and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional Expertise
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with SAP IBP (at least two cycles delivered: implementation/rollout/enhancement).
- Strong knowledge in at least two of the following:
- Demand Planning (statistical forecasting, segmentation, promotion uplifts)
- Supply & Response / OBP (constraints, allocations, pegging, prioritization)
- Inventory Optimization (MEIO, service targets, variability inputs)
- S&OP / Integrated Reconciliation (scenario modeling and KPI governance)
- Control Tower (alerts, exception workflows, what-if).
- Understanding of core supply chain planning concepts: lead times, capacities, BOM/PPM/PDS, sourcing, safety stock, ATP/CTP, and network design.
Integration Knowledge
- Experience with CPI‑DS/CI‑DS (Integration Suite), OData services, and file-based integrations.
- Familiarity with integrating S/4HANA master/transaction data (material, BP, locations, demand history, stock, orders).
- Exposure to Analytics Cloud (SAC) for IBP or embedded analytics is a plus.
Technical/Tooling
- Proficiency with the IBP Excel add-in, planning views, and operator configuration.
- Ability to write clear Functional Specifications and collaborate with integration/technical teams.
- Comfort with permissions & application jobs, Data Integration Jobs, and application logs.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation.
- Analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional/agile teams.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical
- SAP IBP certification (preferred).
- Certifications in APICS/ASCM (CSCP/CPIM) or S&OP frameworks are an advantage.
