Job Description: SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for an SAP TM Consultant to deliver end-to-end functional solutions across transportation planning, execution, charge management, and freight settlement. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SAP TM (embedded or standalone), strong understanding of logistics processes, and the ability to collaborate across Supply Chain, Order-to-Cash, and Procure-to-Pay streams.

Key Responsibilities

1) Solution Design & Delivery

• Conduct requirement workshops with business stakeholders and translate them into functional designs.
• Configure SAP TM processes including:
• Order/Delivery Integration (from ERP/S/4HANA)
• Transportation Requirement Management (FO/FU creation)
• Transportation Planning & Optimization (manual and optimizer-based)
• Carrier Selection & Tendering (including collaboration portal/email)
• Transportation Execution (tracking, events, status management)
• Charge Management & Freight Settlement (calculation sheets, rate tables, settlement)
• Master Data (locations, transportation lanes, calendars, resources, equipment, business partners)
• Prepare functional specifications for WRICEF objects (forms, reports, enhancements, interfaces).
• Support test cycles (UT/SIT/UAT), defect resolution, cutover, and go-live.

2) Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with SD, MM, EWM, GTS, and FI/CO teams for integrated logistics and financial postings.
• Collaborate on interfaces (CIF/PI/PO/Integration Suite, IDocs, APIs) and event management.
• Align solution with Transportation Network design and logistics service provider processes.

3) Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide post‑go‑live support, analyze incidents, and deliver enhancements within SLAs.
• Identify process optimization opportunities and adopt TM best practices.
• Maintain documentation—configuration documents, process flows, SOPs, and training materials.

Required Skills & Experience

Functional Expertise

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP TM (embedded S/4HANA TM preferred; standalone experience is a plus).
• Solid understanding of logistics/transportation processes: planning, tendering, execution, tracking, freight costing, and settlement.
• Experience with charge management (calculation sheets, conditions, scales), agreement management, and freight documents.
• Knowledge of optimizer setup, planning strategies, resource scheduling, and capacity management.
• Understanding of master data (locations, resources, lanes, calendars, BP).

Integration Knowledge

• Integration with SD (deliveries), MM (PO/Inbound), EWM/WM, GTS, and FI/CO for freight postings.
• Experience with interfaces (IDoc/API), carrier systems, and track-and-trace/event management.

Technical/Tooling

• Ability to write clear functional specifications and work closely with ABAP/Integration teams.
• Familiarity with Fiori apps for TM, BRF+ (if used for decisions), and SAP Analytics/Embedded Analytics for reporting.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation.
• Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional agile teams.

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
• SAP TM certification (preferred).
• Any certification in S/4HANA or Supply Chain is an advantage.
