Your work profile

As a Manager (Energy Efficiency & Decarbonization) in our Technology & Transformation team, you’ll build and nurture positive working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while delivering impactful energy transition and operational transformation solutions.

Working as part of the Technology & Transformation practice, your primary role will be to contribute to client engagements focused on energy efficiency improvement, low-carbon technology adoption, renewable energy integration, and industrial decarbonization strategies across sectors including manufacturing, infrastructure, and buildings.

You will support organizations in their energy transition journeys, helping them identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and deploy innovative low-carbon technologies to drive measurable impact.

The responsibilities of this role may include:

Project Delivery

  • Lead and manage consulting engagements focused on industrial and building energy efficiency improvements and decarbonization initiatives.
  • Conduct energy audits, energy assessments, and energy performance benchmarking across industrial facilities and commercial buildings.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, energy savings, and deployment of advanced energy efficiency technologies.
  • Develop decarbonization roadmaps and energy transition strategies for industrial operations and infrastructure assets.
  • Evaluate and support deployment of low-carbon technologies and renewable energy solutions such as solar, biomass, electrification, hydrogen, and waste heat recovery.
  • Conduct techno-economic feasibility analysis and business case development for energy efficiency and decarbonization interventions.
  • Support clients in ESCO-based project implementation, technology selection, and performance monitoring.
  • Perform carbon footprint analysis and emissions baseline assessments to identify reduction opportunities.
  • Integrate resource efficiency, process optimization, and life cycle thinking into client solutions.
  • Guide junior team members on methodologies for technical assessments, data analysis, and field evaluations.
  • Review project outputs and ensure high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables.

Stakeholder Management

  • Lead day-to-day interactions with client stakeholders and facilitate project discussions and workshops.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders, technology providers, government agencies, and financial institutions when required.
  • Manage project teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants to strengthen technical and consulting capabilities.
  • Coordinate with internal Deloitte teams across technology, operations, and sector practices to deliver integrated transformation solutions.

Business Development

  • Support proposal development, client pitches, and solution design for energy efficiency and decarbonization engagements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services in energy transition, industrial efficiency, and low-carbon technology adoption.
  • Contribute to development of thought leadership, point-of-view documents, and market insights on emerging energy technologies and decarbonization trends.
  • Support senior leadership in building new client relationships and expanding Deloitte’s presence in energy transition advisory.

Desired qualifications

  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, or decarbonization consulting or implementation.
  • Hands-on experience in industrial or building energy audits, energy efficiency projects, or low-carbon technology deployment.
  • Experience with energy management systems, process efficiency improvements, or energy transition initiatives.
  • Experience working with large industrial clients, infrastructure sectors, or MSMEs preferred.
  • Prior experience in consulting firms, engineering advisory firms, or large industrial organizations is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client engagements and project teams.

Education

  • BE / B.Tech (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Environmental, Chemical Engineering)
  • M.Tech / MBA (Energy / Sustainability / Strategy) preferred

Preferred Certifications

  • BEE Certified Energy Auditor / Energy Manager (highly desirable)
  • Additional certifications related to energy management or clean technologies are an advantage.

Skills Required

  • Strong expertise in industrial and building energy efficiency.
  • Knowledge of low-carbon technologies and decarbonization pathways.
  • Experience in energy audits, carbon footprinting, and energy modeling.
  • Understanding of policy and regulatory frameworks related to energy and climate.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Location and way of working

Base location: Delhi

This profile involves frequent travel to client locations.
