Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead to lead and manage SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration/conversion programs. The role requires deep technical expertise in SAP Basis administration, system conversion tools, landscape planning, performance optimization, and cutover execution. The Basis Lead will be responsible for overall SAP technical landscape stability, migration readiness, and coordination across functional, technical, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

ECC to S/4HANA Migration Leadership

• Lead SAP ECC to S/4HANA system conversion or selective migration projects
• Define and execute technical migration strategy, including sandbox, dev, QA, and production systems
• Plan and execute SUM (DMO), SPAM, upgrade cycles, and kernel upgrades
• Manage system cloning, refreshes, and transport landscapes during migration

SAP Basis Administration & Operations

• Administer SAP systems across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes
• Manage SAP components including:
• SAP NetWeaver, SAP S/4HANA
• SAP HANA Database
• SAP Gateway, Fiori Launchpad
• Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of SAP systems

HANA & S/4HANA Technical Oversight

• Lead SAP HANA database administration activities:
• Sizing, installation, upgrades, backups, and recovery
• Performance monitoring and tuning
• Ensure system readiness for S/4HANA using:
• SAP Readiness Check 2.0
• Maintenance Planner
• Support technical pre-checks and remediation activities

Cutover, Go-Live & Support

• Own and execute cutover planning and technical go-live activities
• Ensure minimal downtime and business continuity
• Provide hypercare and post-go-live stabilization support
• Coordinate system monitoring and incident resolution

Security, Compliance & Performance

• Manage SAP security roles, authorizations, and user administration
• Ensure system compliance with audit and regulatory requirements
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability
• Plan and test Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) scenarios

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor SAP Basis team members
• Coordinate with functional teams, ABAP, infrastructure, network, and vendors
• Act as the primary technical contact for SAP Basis during migration
• Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to leadership

Mandatory Skills & Experience

SAP Basis & Migration Expertise

• Strong experience in:
• SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA landscapes
• ECC to S/4HANA system conversion (Brownfield preferred)
• Expertise in:
• SUM with DMO
• SPAU/SPDD technical coordination
• Transport Management System (STMS)

HANA & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with:
• SAP HANA administration
• OS and database-level troubleshooting
• Experience with on-premise or cloud platforms:
• AWS / Azure / GCP (RISE with SAP preferred)

Tools & Technologies

• SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM / Monitoring – preferred)
• SAP Maintenance Planner
• SAP EarlyWatch / System Monitoring
• Backup and recovery tools

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities under tight timelines

• Experience with RISE with SAP or SAP on Cloud

• Automation or scripting exposure (Unix, Python, Shell scripting)
