SAP Solution Architect – ECC to S/4HANA Migration

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to lead and design end-to-end solutions for SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration/conversion programs. The role requires strong expertise in SAP architecture, functional and technical integration, migration approaches, and stakeholder management. The architect will be responsible for defining target-state architecture, ensuring solution governance, and guiding execution across complex SAP landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Define end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture aligned with business and IT strategy
• Evaluate and recommend migration approaches (System Conversion, Selective Data Transition, Landscape Transformation)
• Design target-state architecture including S/4HANA, Fiori, Integration Suite, SLT, and surrounding systems
• Ensure adoption of SAP Best Practices, Clean Core principles, and extensibility strategy

ECC to S/4HANA Migration Leadership

• Lead ECC to S/4HANA conversion projects (Brownfield / Selective / Hybrid)
• Conduct SAP Readiness Check 2.0, Simplification Item analysis, Custom Code Adaptation strategy
• Define data migration, archiving, and remediation strategy
• Guide teams on SPAM, SUM, CVI, Finance data preparation, and custom code remediation

Cross-Functional & Technical Oversight

• Work closely with Finance (FI/CO), Logistics (MM/SD), PP, QM, EWM, and other functional teams
• Coordinate with Basis, Security, ABAP, Integration, and Testing teams
• Ensure seamless integration with non-SAP systems (Middleware, APIs, IDOCs, CPI)

Governance & Stakeholder Management

• Act as primary solution authority for SAP transformations
• Review and approve functional and technical design documents
• Engage with business stakeholders, IT leadership, vendors, and SAP
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and decision workshops

Performance, Security & Compliance

• Ensure system scalability, performance optimization, and availability
• Design role-based security model compatible with S/4HANA and Fiori
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit, and regulatory requirements

Mandatory Skills & Experience

SAP & S/4HANA

• Strong experience in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA (On-Prem or RISE)
• Proven experience in at least one end-to-end ECC to S/4HANA conversion
• Deep understanding of S/4HANA simplification items and business impacts
• Expertise in Financial conversion (FI CVI, Universal Journal, Asset Accounting)

Architecture & Technical

• Strong understanding of:
• SAP S/4HANA architecture
• Fiori/UI5 and Fiori Launchpad
• SAP Integration Suite / CPI
• SLT, SDI, Migration Cockpit
• Knowledge of custom code adaptation (SPAU/SPDD, Syntax checks, ATC)

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Leadership experience in guiding large, cross-functional teams
• Excellent documentation and presentation skills

Good to Have

• Experience with RISE with SAP or cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology
• Exposure to Central Finance or Selective Data Transition
