Required Qualifications:

• BE/Btech/MCA
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering and architecture.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL internals including MVCC, WAL, locking mechanisms, and performance optimization.
• Strong command of SQL with advanced query optimization capabilities.
• Proven experience designing and scaling databases in SaaS or high-transaction environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures; experience with Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Ability to independently lead database architecture decisions and take full ownership of the database layer.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable database schemas and optimized data models aligned with business requirements.
• Architect and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions including replication, failover strategies, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).
• Optimize complex queries, indexing strategies, and table partitioning for high-performance workloads.
• Lead performance tuning initiatives, monitoring, and long-term capacity planning.
• Manage and administer PostgreSQL deployments on cloud platforms such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud SQL.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database version control, migrations, and automated deployments.
• Collaborate closely with Backend Engineering and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence.
• Provide architectural guidance from early-stage scale through growth phases.
• Ensure database security, compliance, backup strategies, and governance best practices.
