· Position: Senior Consultant – Export Promotion Advisory (PMU)
· Location: Chhattisgarh
· Engagement Type: Retainership (Project Management Unit)
About the Role
The Senior Consultant will play a critical role in strengthening Chhattisgarh’s export ecosystem by providing strategic advisory support to the government. The position involves policy research, market intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and implementation support to enhance the state’s export competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Policy Research and Advisory
- Develop high-quality policy notes, concept papers, analytical reports, and presentations for senior government stakeholders.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to support state export strategies, policies, and schemes.
- Assist in aligning state initiatives with national export promotion frameworks and international best practices.
2. Market Analysis and Sectoral Strategy
- Identify sectoral opportunities, growth drivers, and challenges across key export-oriented industries in Chhattisgarh (e.g., agriculture, food processing, handicrafts, minerals, MSMEs).
- Conduct market intelligence and export trend analysis for priority global markets.
- Support the development of sector-specific export promotion strategies and action plans.
3. Program Implementation & PMU Support
- Provide end-to-end support for execution of export promotion initiatives under the PMU.
- Coordinate with government departments, export promotion councils, industry bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Track progress and prepare monitoring reports, dashboards, and impact assessments.
4. Capacity Building & Outreach
- Support the design and implementation of capacity-building initiatives for exporters, MSMEs, and government officials.
- Organize workshops, training sessions, roadshows, and stakeholder consultations.
- Facilitate industry engagement and awareness programs to strengthen export readiness at the grassroots level.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Engage with state and central government agencies, industry associations, exporters, and development partners.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure effective program delivery and policy advocacy.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Bachelor of Technology and Master’s degree in Economics, International Trade, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related fields
Experience
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in:
- Export promotion, trade policy, or economic advisory
- Consulting/strategy roles, preferably with government or multilateral projects
- Market research, sectoral analysis, and stakeholder engagement
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and research skills with ability to synthesize complex information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (report writing, presentations).
- Understanding of international trade dynamics, export regulations, and global markets.
- Proven experience in stakeholder coordination and project management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder government environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with state/central government projects, PMUs, or development agencies.
- Familiarity with Chhattisgarh’s key sectors and economic ecosystem.
- Knowledge of export promotion schemes (Startup, FTP, district export hubs, ODOP, etc.).
