The team

Deloitte’s Power, Utilities and Renewables (Ops., Industry & Domain Sol.) within the Technology and Transformation vertical supports governments, multilateral agencies, utilities, development finance institutions, and private sector clients in designing and implementing transformative energy transition initiatives. The new energy team works across electric mobility, battery energy storage systems (BESS), renewable energy, decarbonization, industrial transition, clean technology manufacturing, critical minerals, and sustainable infrastructure to deliver impactful policy, strategy, investment, and implementation solutions.

The practice combines deep sector expertise with rigorous analytical and financial capabilities to help clients navigate the rapidly evolving clean energy landscape, mobilize investments, strengthen institutions, and accelerate sustainable economic growth.

Your work profile

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant – Project Finance to support and lead engagements related to project finance, financial modelling, infrastructure investment, and PPP transaction advisory.

·       The selected candidate will be responsible for developing financial and commercial frameworks for energy and infrastructure projects, assessing project viability, designing financing structures, evaluating investment opportunities, and supporting clients in access to public, private, and climate finance.

·       The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in project finance, infrastructure transactions, financial modelling, revenue analysis, investment appraisal, and financing mechanisms applicable to energy transition and sustainable infrastructure projects.

Sector Experience

Experience in one or more of the following domains is highly desirable:

·       Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, Hybrid Systems)

·       Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

·       Energy Transition and Decarbonization

·       Electric Mobility (EV ecosystem)

·       EV Charging Infrastructure

·       Critical Minerals and Battery Value Chain

·       Battery Manufacturing and Cell Technologies

·       Carbon Markets and Climate Finance

·       Green Hydrogen

·       Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency

Key skills required: 

·       Minimum 4 – 8 years of relevant professional experience in consulting, advisory, utilities, clean energy, electric mobility, or energy transition sectors.

·       Strong understanding of renewable energy, BESS, Green hydrogen, EVs, charging infrastructure, and emerging energy technologies.

·       Experience in policy formulation, regulatory assessments, sector studies, market research, and strategic advisory.

·       Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

·       Experience in techno-commercial assessments and business model evaluation.

·       Ability to prepare high-quality client reports and executive presentations.

·       Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and project management capabilities.

·       Strong communication and presentation skills.

Additional Preferred Skills (High Weightage)

• Advanced financial modelling expertise.
• Infrastructure project appraisal and investment analysis.
• Experience working with multilateral agencies (World Bank, ADB, GIZ, UNDP, IFC, etc.).
• Experience in climate finance, blended finance, carbon finance, or sustainable finance.
• Knowledge of power sector regulations and market mechanisms.
• Exposure to manufacturing value chains, localization strategies, and industrial policy.

Qualifications

·       B.E./B-Tech in Engineering/ B.Com

·       MBA/PGDM (Finance/ Operations preferred but not mandatory)

·       Relevant certifications in Financial Modelling, Project Finance, Renewable Energy, EV Technology, Sustainability, or Climate Finance will be prioritised

Location and Way of Working: 

• Base location: Delhi NCR (Gurgaon)

·       Willingness to travel across India for client engagements, stakeholder consultations, workshops, and project execution activities.
