Your work profile
Objective
The objective of this role is to deliver specialized project management consultancy
for IT projects within various Ministries, Departments, and State Governments in India. As part of a PMC team, the consultant will guide the full lifecycle of IT initiatives under Digital India and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), from initiation to closure, while documenting best practices and ensuring alignment with national standards. This position collaborates closely with NeGD to optimize governance, mitigate risks, and drive successful IT project outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Assist NeGD in enhancing IT project lifecycle management through structured consultancy, emphasizing end-to-end processes including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
2. Project Lifecycle Management
3. Lead the complete IT project lifecycle, ensuring timely execution, budget control, and adherence to Digital India standards from inception through to project handover.
4. Formulate project charters, detailed project reports (DPRs), and roadmaps that cover all lifecycle phases, including resource allocation and dependency mapping.
5. Conduct regular reviews, risk assessments, and progress tracking using PMO dashboards to maintain project health throughout the lifecycle.
Deliverables
1. Comprehensive IT Project Lifecycle Management Plan with standardized templates for phases and tools.
2. Monthly and quarterly monitoring reports on IT project progress and lifecycle milestones.
3. Lessons learned reports for completed IT initiatives, focusing on lifecycle improvements.
4. Knowledge compendium on IT project governance and best practices in lifecycle management. Documentation as case studies and sessions for iGOT, Mission Karmayogi.
5. Recommendations for capacity building and process enhancements in IT consultancy.
Special remarks: Expert in handling multiple technology consulting assignments for multiple geographical assistance
Skill Required
1. Advanced knowledge of hardware and software solutions and network maintenance.
2. Advanced knowledge of data protection and software encryption.
3. Ability to conduct in-house training to increase end-user proficiency.
4. Ability to develop and maintain internal error logs and provide support.
5. Proficiency in providing efficient web-portal support.
6. Ability to ensure optimal system functionality by monitoring performance metrics.
7. Ability to keep up with IT trends and innovation.
8. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Should have successfully delivered at least 10 projects.
Education Details and Experience required
1. At least 12 years extensive experience as a technical consultant in a related industry.
2. Academic Criteria: Top 50-100 NIRF ranking in engineering / management institutes in 2023
