Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Senior Consultant to support and execute SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration/conversion initiatives. The role requires strong expertise in classical and advanced ABAP, custom code remediation, performance optimization, and adherence to S/4HANA simplification and clean core principles. The consultant will work closely with functional, Basis, and architecture teams to ensure a smooth and compliant transition to S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

ECC to S/4HANA Migration & Conversion

• Participate in ECC to S/4HANA system conversion or selective data transition projects
• Analyze S/4HANA Simplification Item List and identify custom code impacts
• Execute custom code remediation using SPAM/SPAU/SPDD, ATC checks, and Code Inspector
• Adapt legacy code to align with S/4HANA data model changes (e.g., MATDOC, ACDOCA)

ABAP Development & Enhancements

• Design, develop, and enhance ABAP objects including:
• Reports (ALV, CDS-based reports)
• Interfaces (IDoc, RFC, Proxy, REST/OData)
• Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancements Framework)
• Forms (SmartForms, Adobe Forms)
• Refactor code for S/4HANA compatibility and performance optimization
• Ensure code follows Clean Core and extensibility best practices

Advanced ABAP & S/4HANA Technologies

• Develop and optimize CDS Views, including annotations for analytics and Fiori
• Work on AMDP, Open SQL optimizations, and HANA-specific coding techniques
• Support Fiori/UI5 backend services (OData, SEGW)
• Handle CVI-related developments during Finance and Business Partner conversion

Testing & Support

• Support unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and cutover activities
• Assist in resolving migration-related defects and performance issues
• Provide post-go-live production support and stabilization

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with functional consultants, Basis, security, and integration teams
• Prepare and maintain technical design documents and code documentation
• Mentor junior ABAP consultants and conduct code reviews

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in:
• ABAP Objects, Reports, Enhancements
• Interfaces (IDoc, BAPI, RFC, Proxy)
• Debugging and performance tuning
• Proven experience with:
• Custom code adaptation for S/4HANA
• SPAU/SPDD adjustments
• ATC with S/4HANA checks

S/4HANA-Specific Knowledge

• Understanding of S/4HANA data model simplifications
• Experience with:
• CDS Views and AMDP
• Fiori-related backend development (OData services)
• Exposure to Finance (ACDOCA, FI CVI) or Logistics simplifications (MATDOC)

Good to Have
