SAP MM Consultant – Job Description (7–10 Years Experience)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM Consultant with 7–10 years of hands-on experience in SAP Materials Management. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end implementation, support, and optimization of procurement and inventory management processes within SAP ERP / S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Configuration

• Lead and execute end-to-end SAP MM implementations (at least 2–3 full life cycles preferred)
• Configure and customize:
• Procurement processes (PR, PO, RFQ)
• Inventory management (GR, GI, stock transfer, physical inventory)
• Invoice verification
• Vendor master data management
• Work on S/4HANA migration or transformation projects

2. Business Process Management

• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders
• Map business processes to SAP MM functionality
• Design and optimize:
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
• Inventory and warehouse processes
• Ensure alignment with industry best practices

3. Integration

• Ensure seamless integration with:
• SAP FI (accounts payable, invoice verification)
• SAP SD (sales order fulfillment)
• SAP WM/EWM (warehouse)
• SAP PP (production planning)
• Handle cross-module dependencies and data flows

4. Support & Enhancements

• Provide L2/L3 support for SAP MM issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Implement enhancements, reports, and custom developments
• Work with ABAP team for technical objects (RICEF)

5. Testing & Documentation

• Prepare functional specifications (FS)
• Conduct:
• Unit Testing
• Integration Testing (SIT)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Maintain comprehensive documentation:
• Config documents
• Training materials
• SOPs

6. Stakeholder Management

• Interact with business users, vendors, and cross-functional teams
• Conduct workshops and user training sessions
• Provide expert guidance on SAP MM best practices

7. Data Migration & Master Data

• Support data migration activities (LSMW, LTMC, Migration Cockpit)
• Ensure quality and governance of:
• Material master
• Vendor master
• Purchasing info records

Required Skills

Core SAP MM Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Purchasing (PR, PO, contracts, scheduling agreements)
• Inventory Management
• Invoice Verification
• Release strategies
• Experience in pricing procedures & output determination
• Hands-on in batch management, valuation, split valuation

Technical & Tools

• Basic understanding of:
• ABAP debugging (preferred)
• Experience with:
• IDOCs, ALE
• Interfaces (EDI)
• Fiori apps (S/4HANA)
• Exposure to SAP tables & data structures

S/4HANA Exposure

• Experience in S/4HANA MM processes
• Knowledge of:
• Business Partner (Vendor integration)
• Simplified data models
• Fiori-based procurement apps

Experience & Qualifications

• 7–10 years of SAP MM experience
• Minimum 1–2 end-to-end implementations
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce / IT
• SAP MM certification (preferred)

• Client-facing experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in Ariba / SRM integration
• Exposure to EWM / TM
