Your work profile.

We are seeking a skilled SOC Deputy Manager to manage, maintain, and enhance our SOC platform, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SOC administration, threat detection, and SOC operations to provide continuous security improvements and support to the SOC team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex investigations and incident response activities using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
  • Perform advanced threat hunting using Kusto Query Language (KQL) and Defender’s advanced hunting interface.
  • Architect, configure, tune, and optimize MDE policies including ASR rules, endpoint detection rules, malware protection, and EDR settings.
  • Oversee large-scale onboarding, health monitoring, and compliance of endpoints within MDE.
  • Provide SME-level support to SOC teams during high-severity incidents, including containment, eradication, and post-incident review.
  • Integrate MDE with wider Microsoft Security Stack: Sentinel, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Purview DLP, etc.
  • Develop and maintain security detection rules, hunting queries, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and provide long-term corrective actions to reduce repeated alerts and false positives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for endpoint security governance, standardization, and Zero Trust endpoint controls.
  • Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams for patching, system hardening, and remediation actions.
  • Mentor and guide SOC analysts, providing training on MDE workflows, detections, and IR best practices.
  • Contribute to internal playbooks, SOPs, automation opportunities, and operational improvements.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8 years of professional cybersecurity experience with 4+ years of deep, hands-on MDE experience.
  • Strong knowledge of EDR, behavioral detections, malware analysis, and threat actor TTPs.
  • Proficient in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for detection development and threat hunting.
  • Experience designing or improving endpoint security architecture.
  • Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, Zero Trust, and IR methodologies.
  • Expertise in tuning and managing EDR policies.
  • Hands-on experience isolating endpoints, killing processes, blocking indicators, and performing technical remediation in MDE.
  • Experience integrating MDE with SIEM/SOAR platforms, preferably Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Strong documentation and communication capability for technical findings and stakeholder reporting.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft certifications:
  • SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500
  • Experience with additional EDR tools (CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Tanium, etc.).
  • Exposure to SOAR automation, API-based integrations, or PowerShell for operational tasks.
