Your work profile

Position: Social and Other Sectors Consultant

 

The Social and Other Sectors Consultant will provide research, analytical, and implementation support for initiatives and projects across social and other development sectors. Key responsibilities may include:

 

Conducting secondary and primary research on social sector issues, policies, programmes, and emerging development priorities

Supporting the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of government programmes and initiatives

Undertaking data collection, analysis, and interpretation to generate insights and support evidence-based decision-making

Conducting stakeholder consultations and coordinating with government departments, implementing agencies, subject matter experts, and other relevant stakeholders

Supporting the preparation of policy notes, strategy documents, concept notes, presentations, reports, and other knowledge products

Undertaking programme reviews, gap assessments, benchmarking exercises, and best practice studies

Supporting the development of implementation frameworks, action plans, roadmaps, and monitoring mechanisms

Tracking progress of projects and initiatives and identifying implementation challenges and potential solutions

Assisting in the design and development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including identification of key performance indicators

Supporting project management and coordination across multiple workstreams and stakeholders

Conducting field visits and primary research, wherever required, to understand on-ground implementation and beneficiary perspectives

Supporting the preparation of recommendations and actionable interventions for strengthening programme outcomes and service delivery

 

Desired Competencies

Strong research and analytical skills, including qualitative and quantitative analysis

Understanding of public policy, government programmes, and development sector issues

Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights

Strong report writing and presentation skills

Ability to engage and coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders

good understanding of programme implementation and monitoring processes

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

Strong communication and project management skills

Willingness to undertake field-based research and stakeholder consultations, as required

 

Experience:

1 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in the development sector, public policy, social sector programmes, government advisory, and related areas.

Prior experience of working on government consulting assignments, public sector projects, or engagements with government departments/agencies will be preferred.

 

Educational Qualifications:

Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences/Public Policy/Management
