Job Summary
This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of highly available Microsoft SQL Server environments, including design, installation, configuration, security, and ongoing maintenance in enterprise, production‑critical settings. The position involves proactive monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of database systems, along with hands‑on troubleshooting, incident resolution, and after‑hours on‑call support. The candidate will establish and enforce database standards, access controls, backup/restore, disaster recovery, and high‑availability strategies while supporting secure data refreshes across environments. Strong expertise in SQL Server (2016–2022), T‑SQL, database security, auditing, ITIL‑based incident management, and compliance with data privacy regulations is essential to ensure stability, performance, and reliability of mission‑critical databases.
Your work profile:
- Responsible for design, installation, configuration, security and maintenance of highly available enterprise database systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incident tickets.
- Participate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after- hours/weekends/holidays.
- Establish and maintain database policies and standards
- Plan and coordinate data refreshes from one environment to another
- Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
- Follow and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes, including database feature installation, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution
- Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.
- Responsibilities include troubleshooting database issues, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving SQL Server errors and failures.
Key skills required:
- 7+ years direct experience managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server version (2016-2022). Experience in installation and configuration of SQL Server in Virtualized Environments
- 7+ years knowledge and experience in Database Performance, Tuning and Optimization (PTO) Excellent knowledge in system views and system stored procedures using T-SQL.
- 7+ years hands on experience with database security, auditing, backup/restore, DR and high availability
- 7+ years knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Knowledge of Incident/Problem Management and is familiar with ITIL processes in a critical production environment.
