Job Summary

We are looking for a Lead Frontend Developer who combines deep hands-on expertise in React and TypeScript with the ability to set technical direction, mentor engineers, and ship high-quality products. You will own the frontend architecture, drive engineering standards, and collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver performant, accessible, and scalable user experiences.

Your work profile

Technical Leadership & Architecture

- Define and evolve the frontend architecture - component hierarchy, state management strategy, API integration

patterns, and module boundaries.

- Make build-vs-buy decisions for UI libraries, tooling, and third-party integrations.

- Champion TypeScript best practices - strict typing, discriminated unions, generics, and utility types to maximize

compile-time safety.

- Own the design system / component library strategy; ensure consistency, reusability, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1

AA).

Hands-On Development

- Write production-grade React + TypeScript code daily (75% IC work expected).

- Implement complex UI features - data-heavy tables, dashboards, real-time updates, multi-step forms, and

drag-and-drop workflows.

- Optimize rendering performance (React profiler, memoization, virtualization, lazy loading, code splitting).

- Integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs; manage client-side caching and optimistic updates.

Quality & DevOps

- Establish and enforce testing strategy - unit (Jest/Vitest), integration (React Testing Library), and E2E

(Playwright/Cypress). Target >= 80% critical-path coverage.

- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines for linting, type-checking, testing, and preview deployments.

- Monitor frontend observability - error tracking, core web vitals, bundle analysis, and alerting.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

- Lead a team of 4-8 frontend engineers; conduct code reviews, pair programming, and architecture discussions.

- Drive sprint planning, estimation, and delivery commitments for frontend workstreams.

- Mentor mid and junior developers on React patterns, TypeScript, testing, and career growth.

- Participate in hiring - define interview rubrics, conduct technical screens, and evaluate take-home assessments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Product to translate requirements into technical specs and phased delivery plans.

- Work with UX/Design to refine interaction patterns, motion design, and responsiveness before development begins.

- Align with Backend on API contracts, error handling standards, pagination, and authentication flows.

- Coordinate with DevOps / Platform on hosting, CDN, feature flags, and environment management.

Key skills required:

Must Have:

- 9+ years of professional frontend development.

- 3+ years leading a frontend team or workstream.

- Expert-level React (hooks, context, concurrent features) and TypeScript.

- Strong understanding of browser internals, rendering pipeline, and performance optimization.

- Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries.

- Demonstrated ability to review code constructively and elevate team standards.

- Solid grasp of accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with Next.js (SSR/SSG/ISR).

- Familiarity with micro-frontends or module federation.

- Background in monorepo tooling (Nx, Turborepo).

- Exposure to backend technologies (Node.js, Python, or Java).

- Contributions to open-source projects.

- Experience with real-time data (WebSockets, SSE).

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization.
