Your work profile

 

The Associate Director, OMS, is a senior leadership role responsible for directing the strategic development, implementation, and operational excellence of the company's order management systems and related supply chain processes. This position requires strong leadership and deep functional expertise to drive process improvements, cross-functional collaboration, and effective team management. 

Key responsibilities

Strategic planning and system management

  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for the OMS to ensure it aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Lead the assessment, design, and implementation of best practices for the order management lifecycle, from creation to fulfillment.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define system initiatives, secure funding, and evaluate investments in the OMS and related technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements by staying current with industry innovations and best practices. 

Operational oversight and performance management

  • Oversee daily operations related to order processing, fulfillment, and financial settlement, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to order accuracy, fulfillment rates, and customer lead times.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for process optimization and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex or escalated order-related issues, such as price discrepancies, invoicing errors, and inventory problems. 

Cross-functional collaboration and leadership

  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison for senior business stakeholders regarding the OMS and related processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including supply chain, operations, sales, and finance, to optimize the end-to-end order-to-cash process.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and partners involved in the order management ecosystem. 

Team leadership and development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of order management specialists and leaders.
  • Establish and maintain clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training programs to improve team proficiency with the OMS and process workflows.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources for the order management team effectively.

Desired qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. An MBA is often preferred.
  • Experience: 7–10+ years of relevant experience in a leadership role, with a strong background in customer fulfillment, supply chain, and order management.
  • Technical skills: Deep knowledge of the entire supply chain function, including procurement, planning, and logistics. Proficiency with ERP systems (like SAP) is often required.
  • Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, manage complex issues, and influence stakeholders across an organization.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify trends, evaluate performance metrics, and drive process improvements.

Communication skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective internal and external interaction
