Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented and motivated OpenShift L2 Support Engineer to provide advanced-level support for OpenShift-based containerized platforms. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of OpenShift clusters in collaboration with L1, L3, and DevOps teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and Maintenance:
Manage and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters in production and non-production environments.
Monitor and ensure cluster availability, performance, and scalability.
Analyze and resolve L2-level issues escalated from the L1 support team.
Incident and Problem Management:
Work on tickets related to OpenShift platform incidents and service requests.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
Collaborate with L3 and engineering teams for complex escalations.
Configuration Management:
Implement and manage OpenShift configuration changes, including node scaling, network policies, and application deployments.
Patch and upgrade OpenShift components following best practices.
Monitoring and Alerting:
Set up and maintain monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and EFK/ELK stack.
Respond to alerts related to cluster health, application logs, or performance metrics.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed operational and troubleshooting documentation.
Create knowledge articles and SOPs for the L1 team.
Collaboration:
Work closely with DevOps, development, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues and implement changes.
Provide inputs for platform optimization and reliability improvements.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift on v4.x
In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, concepts, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitOps workflows.
Hands-on knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
Familiarity with networking concepts: DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, and Ingress/Egress policies.
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) hosting OpenShift.
Preferred Skills:
Red Hat OpenShift certifications (e.g., EX280 or EX288 or CKA).
Knowledge of storage integration and CSI
Familiarity with Istio, Service Mesh, or related technologies.
Scripting or automation skills (Python, Ansible, etc.).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
