Your work profile
Manage and process global shipment requests, including Move Order Requests (MORs), from multiple warehouse locations.
Analyze shipment requirements and ensure compliance with international shipping procedures and trade regulations.
Review, validate, and approve commercial documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping instructions, and export/import documents.
Create and maintain manual trade compliance documents as required for global shipments.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation partners to support efficient shipment execution.
Monitor inbound and outbound international shipments and resolve customs clearance issues through effective coordination and escalation.
Perform country-specific trade compliance research to support expansion into new markets and locations.
Manage location codes, shipment data, and compliance records using internal logistics systems.
Review order requests to validate shipping entities, Incoterms, documentation requirements, and compliance information.
Track shipment progress from request initiation through delivery confirmation.
Partner with logistics, procurement, legal, manufacturing, and business teams to support global supply chain initiatives.
Monitor shipment backlog, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to improve delivery performance.
Prepare transportation and brokerage performance reports and analyze logistics cost data.
Manage ATA Carnet processes for temporary international imports and exports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine product country of origin and support customs compliance activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing trade compliance processes and operational workflows.
Key skills required
- 3–8 years of experience in Trade Compliance, International Logistics, Import/Export Operations, or Supply Chain functions.
- Strong understanding of global trade regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping practices.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI)
- Export declarations
- Import duties and tax assessments
- Temporary import/export processes
- ATA Carnets
- Strong knowledge of Forward Logistics, Reverse Logistics, and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) operations.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Knowledge of tariff classification, HS codes, Incoterms, and country of origin determination.
- Familiarity with logistics platforms such as FedEx Ship Manager, DHL Import/Export portals, and internal shipment management systems.
- Experience with manufacturing and assembly documentation including BOMs, drawings, and product documentation.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace tools including Sheets, Docs, Calendar, and Gmail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with global teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Awareness of Dangerous Goods regulations and import certification requirements.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Relations, Logistics, or a related field.
- Customs brokerage coursework or certification.
- Dangerous Goods certification/training.
- Experience managing AES export filing processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing supply chains and global logistics operations.
- Multilingual communication skills.
