Job Title:  Lead Associate | Data Engineering | Hyderabad | Engineering as a Service/ Operate

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design, scale, and operate mission-critical data platforms supporting Lucid’s enterprise and consumer applications. You will be responsible for data reliability, performance, security, and scalability while partnering closely with backend, platform, analytics, and US-based engineering teams. This role requires strong ownership of database architecture and operational excellence in high-scale, cloud-native environments.


Your work profile:

•        Own end-to-end database design, development, performance tuning, deployment, and

operational support

•        Design scalable data models for transactional, analytical, and hybrid workloads

•        Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, analyze query behavior, and implement

optimizations

•        Define backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies

•        Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across systems

•        Embed reliability engineering practices (SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, alerting) into data platforms

•        Drive database standards, best practices, and design reviews across teams

•        Collaborate with backend, infrastructure, and data engineering teams on system design

•        Leverage automation and Infrastructure-as-Code for database provisioning and maintenance

•        Use GenAI-assisted workflows to analyze schemas, queries, and operational patterns

•        Mentor junior engineers and act as a technical leader for database-related initiatives

•        Collaborate effectively with US teams across time zones


Key skills required: 

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) with 8–10 years of relevant experience

• Master’s degree (or equivalent work experience) with 7–8 years of relevant experience

 

Preferred Skills / Experience

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server

• Strong experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with AWS-managed databases (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift)

• Proven experience with performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization

• Experience designing high-availability, multi-region, and disaster recovery solutions

• Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance requirements

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architectures

• Experience supporting microservices and event-driven systems

• Strong understanding of transactional vs analytical workloads

• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automation pipelines
