Job Description 


A Pega QA Engineer is responsible for validating, testing, and ensuring the quality of applications developed using the Pega platform. The role involves working closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that applications meet functional, technical, and business requirements while maintaining high quality standards. 


Experience: 2 – 6 years 


 


The following are the key responsibilities of a Pega QA Engineer: 


  • Participate in requirement gathering and analysis to understand business requirements and prepare effective testing strategies and test scenarios.  
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test plans for Pega applications.  
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing for applications built on the Pega platform.  
  • Validate workflows, case management, business rules, SLAs, and user interfaces within Pega applications.  
  • Debug, identify, and document defects and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.  
  • Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables are completed on time and within budget.  
  • Ensure application quality, performance, scalability, and security through thorough testing practices.  
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment validation, and post-production verification activities.  
  • Stay up to date with the latest Pega technologies, QA methodologies, and testing tools.  

 


Skills / Project Experience – required: 

  • Hands-on experience in testing applications built on Pega PRPC platform.  
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and testing best practices.  
  • Experience in functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, SIT, and UAT support.  
  • Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.  
  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall development environments.  
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.  
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design concepts.  
  • Experience in validating BPM (Business Process Management) workflows and Pega case management applications.  
  • Exposure to testing various Pega features and rules such as Flows, Activities, User Interfaces, Flow Actions, Agents, SLAs, Correspondence, Single-Sign-On, External Authentication, PRPC security, Reports, Listeners (File, MQ), Connectors, and SOAP services.  
  • Understanding of PRPC implementation lifecycle, enterprise class structure, and rule set validation.  

 


Skills / Project Experience – good to have: 


  • Experience with API testing tools and automation testing frameworks.  
  • Exposure to performance testing and security testing concepts.  
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment validation activities.  
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA or ALM.  
  • Understanding of database validation and SQL queries.

Certifications: 


Pega CSA certification is preferred. 


Prior Experience: 


Should have overall 2 to 6 years of experience in QA/testing of Pega applications.
