Systems Engineer (3 to 7 Years Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with 3–7 years of experience to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows and Linux administration, advanced virtualization, security frameworks, and automation. This is an onsite role in Norfolk, VA.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows (Server 2019, 2022, Windows 10/11) and Red Hat Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
- Manage Active Directory, group policies, multi-domain environments, and advanced server services.
- Deploy, configure, and manage VMware technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, vRealize Suite, VMware Aria).
- Implement and manage endpoint security solutions (e.g., Trellix).
- Apply and enforce security frameworks (NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls, DoD 8500.01).
- Utilize cybersecurity tools (SIEM, ACAS, Tenable.SC) for vulnerability assessment and compliance.
- Analyze Windows registry, file system artifacts, logs, and permissions.
- Implement IAM, RBAC, MFA, and privileged access management.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, PHP, JavaScript).
- Identify and mitigate IT risks, and participate in audits.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–7 years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
- Advanced experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
- Strong expertise in VMware and virtualization platforms.
- Experience with security frameworks, compliance, and cybersecurity tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
