The Senior ServiceNow Developer – ITAM, CMDB & Integrations is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow solutions that drive visibility, control, and automation across IT Asset Management and Configuration Management processes.

This role ensures the integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), supports governance and compliance through accurate asset data, and develops robust integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems (e.g., Coupa, SailPoint, SuccessFactors).


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ServiceNow solutions for Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) in alignment with enterprise processes and license compliance.
  • Enhance and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring accurate relationships, normalization, and reconciliation across CIs.
  • Build and scale SCCM, Intune, JAMF for real-time hardware and software inventory
  • Implement discovery patterns, data imports, and CI class models aligned with CSDM and ITIL standards.
  • Develop and automate integrations between ServiceNow and systems such as SCCM, Intune, JAMF, Active Directory, Coupa, and SailPoint using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Servers.
  • Support CMDB and ITAM governance processes to maintain data quality, ownership, and lifecycle accuracy.
  • Create dashboards and reports for asset utilization, compliance, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow Architect and Platform Owner to design solutions that scale with enterprise growth and align with platform roadmap
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, design reviews, and retrospectives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, integration errors, and data discrepancies.
  • Support upgrade planning and testing to ensure compatibility with new ServiceNow releases
  • Document design specifications, data models, and workflow logic for governance and audits.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience with 3+ years specifically focused on ITAM and/or CMDB implementations
  • Deep technical understanding of:
  • CMDB Architecture: CI classes, relationships, dependency mapping, service modeling, and data reconciliation engines
  • CSDM Framework: Version 4+ implementation including technical services, business applications, and infrastructure layers
  • Discovery & Sensors: Service Mapping, Discovery patterns, pattern debugging, and custom probe creation
  • Asset Management: HAM/SAM workflows, normalization, license compliance, and financial lifecycle management

 

Integration Mastery

  • Extensive experience building enterprise integrations using:
  • IntegrationHub (spoke creation, custom actions, connection aliases, credentials)
  • REST/SOAP web services (design, consumption, authentication strategies)
  • MID Server configuration, clustering, and troubleshooting
  • Transform Maps, Import Sets, and scheduled data imports
  • Solid understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, API keys, certificate-based auth)
  • Experience with data transformation, error handling, and integration monitoring

Technical Proficiency

  • Expert-level JavaScript development skills with deep knowledge of ServiceNow Glide APIs
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and process automation
  • Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, UI Policies
  • Client Scripts, GlideAjax, and asynchronous patterns
  • ACLs, Security Rules, and role-based access control
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of JSON, XML, and data serialization formats

Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Required

 

Preferred

  • ServiceNow CIS – ITAM, CIS – Discovery, or CIS – CMDB certification.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with SCCM, Intune, JAMF, or ERP/Procurement systems (e.g., Coupa).
  • Familiarity with HAM Pro, SAM Pro, and CSDM v4+ models.
  • Experience working in a global manufacturing or enterprise environment.
