Job Description: Scrum Master
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to serve as a Domain Owner within a large-scale technology implementation program. This practitioner will play a critical role in driving agile delivery, ensuring sprint execution aligns with domain priorities, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. The Scrum Master will work to refine backlogs, prioritize user stories, and steer sprint performance toward measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Sprint Management
- Lead sprint ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with domain objectives.
- Maintain transparency of sprint progress using appropriate agile tools and dashboards.
- Remove impediments proactively to enable smooth sprint execution.
Domain Ownership
- Act as the primary owner of domain-level delivery activities, ensuring alignment to program milestones and strategic objectives.
- Drive coordination across functional and technical teams within the domain, ensuring dependencies are identified and managed.
- Represent the domain in cross-team planning, risk discussions, and status reviews.
Backlog & Prioritization
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to refine and prioritize the product backlog.
- Ensure backlog items are clearly articulated with acceptance criteria and business value.
- Balance competing priorities across workstreams to optimize sprint throughput.
Sprint Outcome Management
- Monitor sprint metrics (velocity, burndown, capacity, quality) to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure sprint commitments are met and value is delivered consistently.
- Facilitate continuous improvement by driving action items from retrospectives and reinforcing agile best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate sprint progress, risks, and outcomes to program leadership and domain stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and promote a culture of accountability and delivery excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in large technology transformation or enterprise implementation programs.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver complex requirements.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master) preferred.
