Intermediate Business Analyst – Guidewire Platforms
Role Purpose
As an Intermediate Business Analyst (Guidewire), you support the translation of business needs into clear, structured, and implementable functional requirements for Guidewire initiatives across one or more value streams.
You work as part of Agile teams to ensure requirements are well-defined, testable, and aligned with Guidewire product capabilities and organisational standards. The role focuses on building functional expertise, contributing to delivery, and developing strong analytical and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Functional Analysis & Solution Support
- Assist in analyzing business requirements across Guidewire platforms:
- PolicyCenter
- BillingCenter
- ClaimCenter
- Support translation of business needs into:
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Basic functional rules
- Leverage Guidewire out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities wherever possible; escalate customization needs with justification
- Identify and highlight:
- Functional gaps
- Dependencies
- Impacts across underwriting, claims, billing, and finance
2. Business Collaboration & Requirements Gathering
- Work closely with:
- Product Owners
- Business SMEs
- Senior BAs / Delivery leads
- Participate in requirement workshops and discussions
- Clarify scope, business objectives, and priorities with guidance
- Support documentation of assumptions, risks, and dependencies
3. Backlog Contribution & Quality
- Assist in preparing and refining backlog items:
- User stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Ensure stories are:
- Clear
- Understandable
- Testable
- Support maintaining traceability between requirements and delivered features
- Seek guidance when handling complex or ambiguous requirements
4. Agile Delivery Participation
- Actively participate in:
- Sprint planning
- Backlog grooming
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint reviews
- Collaborate with:
- Developers
- QA teams
- Integration teams
- Support testing activities:
- Functional validation
- UAT coordination (as needed)
5. Production & Run Support (Basic)
- Assist in supporting production issues (L2 level) with guidance
- Contribute to:
- Defect triage
- Functional clarification
- Help document learnings from defects to improve future requirements
6. Standards & Continuous Learning
- Follow organisational and Guidewire functional standards and practices
- Learn and apply:
- Reusable patterns

Required Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Junior BSA
- Basic exposure to Guidewire Insurance Suite (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter preferred)
- Understanding of P&C insurance processes (basic to intermediate)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical teams
Desirable Experience
- Internship or project exposure to Guidewire implementations
- Basic understanding of system integrations or APIs
- Exposure to testing or UAT support activities
