Job Description: SAP MM & eSPP Functional Lead

 Role Overview

The **SAP Materials Management (MM) & Extended Service Parts Planning (eSPP) Functional Lead** drives the enterprise solution architecture, functional design, and deployment of end-to-end procurement, inventory management, and service parts planning processes within SAP S/4HANA. This role serves as the lead functional expert bridging Supply Chain, Purchasing, Aftersales/Service Logistics, Manufacturing, and Enterprise IT—ensuring high-performing procure-to-pay (P2P) workflows, optimized service parts inventory levels, and seamless integration between planning and execution systems.

Primary Responsibilities

End-to-End Solution Architecture & Process Design

Lead global design and discovery workshops with Supply Chain, Procurement, Service Logistics, and Demand Planning teams to translate operational strategies into scalable SAP S/4HANA and eSPP solutions.

Architect end-to-end purchasing, inventory management, and service parts planning processes—including Purchasing/P2P, Valuation/Goods Movements, Inventory Optimization, Service Parts Demand Forecasting, Stock Positioning, and Redistribution.

Design robust data synchronization, caching, and middleware interfaces between SAP S/4HANA (MM/PP/SD), SAP eSPP, and connected enterprise platforms (e.g., MES, PLM, Supplier Portals, 3PL platforms).

Functional Configuration & Project Delivery

Perform hands-on configuration in **SAP MM** (Purchase Requisitions/Orders, Movement Types, Account Determination, Special Stocks, Vendor Master/Business Partners) and

SAP eSPP** (Parts Requirement Planning, Demand Capture, Safety Stock Calculation, Fair Share Distribution, Deployment, Surplus/Obsolescence).

Write detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) and guide technical teams through ABAP development and middleware integration.

Lead cross-functional integration testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), cutover planning, data migration strategies (Material Master, Service Parts Master, Open POs, Stock Data), and post-go-live hypercare.

Operational Optimization & Digital Transformation

* Optimize service parts inventory turnover and service-level fill rates through continuous tuning of eSPP forecasting algorithms and stock replenishment parameters.

Implement SAP Fiori applications to modernize inventory tracking, purchase order approvals, and exception-driven parts management for planners and buyers.

* Drive continuous improvement and support enterprise cloud transformations (e.g., S/4HANA upgrades, RISE with SAP, eSPP embedded vs. standalone integration).

8+ years of hands-on functional experience in SAP MM/Procurement and SAP SPP / eSPP, with at least 2 full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementations or major supply chain transformation projects as a Lead.

Technical Depth

Deep expertise in core SAP MM (Procure-to-Pay, Master Data, Inventory Management, Physical Inventory) combined with strong domain knowledge in SAP eSPP (Service Parts Forecasting, DRP, Deployment, Inventory Planning)

System Integrations

Proven experience integrating SAP MM and eSPP with core execution modules (SD, PP, PM/CS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), PLM systems, and external 3PL networks.

Technical Aptitude

Proficiency in writing functional specs, reading/debugging ABAP, troubleshooting iDocs/BAPIs, working with SAP TVARVC tables, and configuring Fiori user interfaces.

Leadership

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional global teams, manage offshore delivery partners, and communicate effectively with supply chain executives

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience transitioning legacy SAP SPP (Service Parts Planning on SCM/APO) to embedded **eSPP in SAP S/4HANA**.

Familiarity with low-code/automation tools, AI-assisted demand forecasting, or enterprise analytics platforms (e.g., Power Apps, Copilot Studio).

SAP Certification in S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement or Supply Chain Planning.
