Role Overview
The Senior Test Engineer plays a pivotal role within the Quality Assurance organization and is
responsible for owning the end-to-end QA deliverable from project inception through release.
This role combines strong QA automation expertise with hands-on manual testing, ensuring
quality is built into the product lifecycle from the earliest stages of planning and design through
implementation, validation, and deployment.
You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the system architecture, business
workflows, feature breakdowns, and technical design to create effective test strategies and
provide comprehensive quality coverage. This role requires actively participating in requirement
reviews, understanding dependencies across frontend, backend, integrations, and microservices, and
translating those into a combination of manual validation and automated regression coverage.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable testing features manually during development,
identifying gaps and edge cases, and simultaneously preparing and implementing automation
test cases that can be executed within sprint cycles and integrated into CI/CD pipelines. You will
leverage tools such as Playwright, Postman, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, and Jenkins CI/CD to drive
scalable and maintainable automation.
You will collaborate closely across engineering, product, architecture, and DevOps teams; contribute
to Agile ceremonies; mentor offshore QA engineers; present regular quality updates to
management; and champion best practices that minimize regressions and improve release
confidence at scale.
Key Responsibilities
includes:
Both QA automation and manual QA
Owning QA from project inception through release
Architecture and feature breakdown understanding
Manual testing while preparing automation coverage
Executing automation within sprint cycles
Regular management updates
Identifying and driving best practices to prevent regressions

Key Responsibilities
QA Ownership, Test Strategy & Delivery
Own the QA deliverable end-to-end for assigned projects and features, from project
inception, requirement analysis, and design reviews through validation, signoff, and release
readiness.
Develop a strong understanding of application architecture, data flow, integration
points, and feature decomposition in order to define robust quality strategies.
Partner with product managers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders early in the
lifecycle to identify risks, clarify requirements, and ensure testability.
Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases with strong
emphasis on coverage, traceability, maintainability, and sprint execution readiness.
Ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC and that all deliverables meet the high
reliability standards expected of Lucid software products.
Manual QA & Functional Validation
Perform hands-on manual testing of new features, workflows, integrations, and edge cases
during development and sprint cycles.
Execute black box, exploratory, regression, usability, and end-to-end testing for
customer-facing and internal applications.
Use manual validation to uncover functional gaps, workflow issues, and corner cases before
automation is finalized.
Validate feature behavior across frontend, backend, APIs, and microservices to ensure
business requirements and technical expectations are fully met.
Automation & Technical Execution
Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using tools such
as Playwright for UI and API automation.
Build and execute automated test suites for frontend applications, backend services, APIs,
and cloud-native microservices.
Prepare automation coverage in parallel with manual testing by converting validated test
scenarios into reusable and maintainable automated test cases.
Execute automation test cases within sprints and ensure timely inclusion in regression suites
and release pipelines.
Develop and execute integration tests, end-to-end scenarios, smoke suites, and
reliability test suites.
Use Postman for advanced API testing, collection management, and automated validation.
Leverage VS Code and GitHub Copilot to improve test development efficiency, readability,
and maintainability.
Implement and maintain automation pipelines in Jenkins and integrate testing into CI/CD
workflows.
Regression Prevention & Best Practices
Identify, define, and implement QA best practices that reduce production defects and
prevent regressions.
Continuously improve test coverage strategy by balancing manual validation, automation
depth, and risk-based prioritization.
Drive adoption of standards for reusable test design, stable automation patterns, test data
management, and reliable execution practices.
