Role 1 - Delivery Project Manager – Global Finance ESG Programme, GCB 4

We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Delivery Project Manager – Global Finance ESG Programme.

 

Principal Responsibilities

·      Project Manager role to lead and drive the initiatives within the book of work of the Global Finance ESG Programme (i.e. ESG regulations and reporting requirements).

·      To coordinate and drive the planning and execute activities for the book of work initiatives, evaluating options (process, technology, and organisation) by agreeing solutions and implementation plans, estimate implementation costs, ensuring effective budget management.

·      The role holder is expected to engage closely with stakeholders in Global Finance, Global Businesses & Functions to ensure consistent alignment and delivery of project outcomes. 

·      Empowered to make decisions, the role holder will need to be visible and lead by example throughout. The role requires extensive engagement with line Finance to prepare the stakeholders for a transition to a more robust ESG reporting framework.

·      The role will be a strategic partner linking the business with functional, technical and test teams in order to ensure the success of the product development and programme success.

 

Requirements

·      Strong project management and governance experience in a global scale with sounded track record of delivery.

·      Experience in driving large scale ESG programme initiatives or in the Finance domain.

·      Track record of leading, engaging, managing and motivating teams;

·      Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

·      Capable of articulating business requirements into implementation approach.

The ESG - CSRD Programme is a multi-year programme within Finance Change Delivery (FCD) to deliver the Global Finance Strategic Solution for ESG CSRD obligations (and internal monitoring and reporting capability) for the bank. 

 

As a key member of the Finance CSRD team, this role will contribute to activities such as facilitating Double Materiality Assessment; coordinating disclosure and data requirements; contributing to the completion of the BRD, which in turn forms part of the Strategic Solution covering CSRD disclosure, regulatory and internal MI reporting onto the Cloud-based data and reporting solution as designed by the Finance IT Programme.

 

This role is a unique opportunity to work in an area of growing interest to regulators, investors, and the wider external market.

 

 Key accountabilities include:

 

  • Ensure business and user requirements along with enhancement related to CSRD are well represented and collated.
  • Capable of articulating business requirements into implementation approach in light of data feeds, sources and systems design implication for onwards design and build.
  • Identify issues globally (and regionally / at entity) as appropriate and share issues and solutions accordingly.
  • Lead the day-to-day CSRD outcomes for the Group and ESG CFO to front the change through Global Finance and broader stakeholder groups.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across Finance and other stakeholder groups.
  • Understand how Global Finance impacts can be identified appropriately, in partnership with the ESG CFO team.
  • Work with other programmes to ensure that Finance related ESG and Sustainable Finance dependencies are delivered within the timelines and to the standards required by Finance.
  • Enable transition to BAU, ensuring completeness, governance, and adherence to Change Framework standards.
  • Provide important link into project delivery team to ensure quality in operational readiness planning.

 

Requirements

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A Minimum of 5 years' experience within the Finance change function or Finance IT, Senior BA/SME capacity would be an added advantage.
  • Preferred hands on experience on financial reporting
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS related products i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Ms Visio.
  • Prior experience in global regulatory/finance change within a Finance or Risk context.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good Cross-Finance knowledge and experience, able to confidently speak on behalf of Finance.
  • Understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes, and objectives.
  • Proven track record for adopting an inclusive approach, achieving consensus on action plans for resolving complex issues and ability to exercise independent and out of the box thinking.
  • Ability to influence and manage global and regional stake holder relationships in leading change

 

 

Desired qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • 10+ Years of Exp
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effective internal and external interaction
