Position: Biomedical Engineer (BME) - Procurement & Management Expert

Location: Hyderabad, Telangana (Onsite at TGMSIDC PMU)

Role Purpose

The Biomedical Engineer will serve as the Procurement & Management Expert within the Project Management Unit (PMU) established at TGMSIDC. The incumbent will provide technical and advisory support for procurement, lifecycle management, utilization, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and performance monitoring of medical equipment across government healthcare facilities in Telangana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for end-to-end procurement of medical equipment, from need assessment and specification development to installation and acceptance testing.
  • Review and validate technical specifications, bid documents, evaluation criteria, and vendor proposals for medical equipment procurements.
  • Develop and implement equipment lifecycle management frameworks, including procurement, installation, warranty, CAMC, AMC, replacement planning, and disposal.
  • Monitor equipment performance, utilization, uptime, and service quality across healthcare institutions.
  • Support CAMC and warranty management activities, including SLA monitoring, coverage-gap analysis, and renewal planning.
  • Conduct equipment ageing analysis and recommend replacement or redistribution strategies for optimal utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including CDSCO, AERB, BIS, Medical Device Rules 2017, and related healthcare regulations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance and asset management frameworks for medical equipment.
  • Assist in pre-dispatch inspection (PDI), acceptance testing, commissioning, and validation of equipment.
  • Support audit preparedness and maintain documentation related to equipment procurement and management.
  • Coordinate with hospitals, vendors, procurement teams, and government stakeholders for effective implementation of equipment management initiatives.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports related to medical equipment procurement and lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to capacity-building programs and training workshops for hospital and TGMSIDC personnel on equipment management and best practices

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (BME) / Biomedical Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE).
  • MBA in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Hospital Management, or equivalent qualification will be preferred.
