Job Description – Guidewire Business Systems Analyst (BSA)

Position Summary 


Level: Consultant 


As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for driving business analysis activities, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering high-quality functional solutions within defined timelines. You will act as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure successful implementation of Guidewire solutions aligned with client business objectives. 


 


Work You’ll Do 


  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Guidewire implementations and enhancements 
  • Conduct workshops, stakeholder discussions, and requirement elicitation sessions with business users and client teams 
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria 
  • Collaborate with Guidewire development, QA, and architecture teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements 
  • Support configuration, integration, and testing activities by clarifying business requirements and validating solutions 
  • Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements aligned with Guidewire best practices 
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives 
  • Assist in defect triaging, issue resolution, and user acceptance testing (UAT) 
  • Maintain project documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process flows, traceability matrices, and change requests 
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery 
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, accelerators, and knowledge-sharing activities 

 


The Team 


You will play a key role in delivering industry-focused Guidewire solutions that help organizations modernize insurance operations, improve customer experiences, and optimize business processes. By combining business analysis expertise with Guidewire platform knowledge, you will help clients achieve operational efficiency, scalability, and digital transformation objectives across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter implementations. 


 


Qualifications 


Must Have Skills / Project Experience / Certifications 


  • 4 – 6 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Functional Consultant 
  • Hands-on experience working on Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter projects 
  • Strong understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain processes 
  • Experience in requirement gathering, business process analysis, and functional documentation 
  • Ability to create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and acceptance criteria 
  • Good understanding of Guidewire product capabilities, integrations, and workflows 
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments 
  • Exposure to API/Web Services concepts, XML, and system integrations 
  • Experience supporting UAT, defect management, and business validation activities 
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills 
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with onsite/offshore teams and cross-functional stakeholders 
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office tools, JIRA, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools 


Certification: Guidewire Business Analyst / ACE Certification preferred 

 


Good to Have Skills / Project Experience / Certifications 


  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud implementations or migration projects 
  • Exposure to digital insurance transformation initiatives 
  • Understanding of Guidewire DataHub / InfoCenter concepts 
  • Experience working with reporting and analytics requirements 
  • Knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation 
  • Exposure to process modeling tools such as Visio or Lucidchart 

 


Education 


BE/B.Tech/M.C.A./MBA/M.Sc degree or equivalent from an accredited university
